Not really. I've seen a lot of elves who travel the fighter's path and stuff :P
But if you think about it, a 20% dmg gap between elves and giants can matter a bit
Just know that humans are great at EVERYTHING
Giants should only go Close Combat and magic (for support). there aren't many roads giant should walk on..
Elves can do anything, but close combat should not be worked on very much on them. Except for maybe Fighter. Elves excel in archery and puppetry and even magic, but you really shouldn't work on close combat. Fighter is an exception

Humans can duel wield. That gives them a HUGE strength boost in terms of close combat
Giants can wield a sword ALONG with a two-handed sword. Along with 10% and 20% dmg more than other races, they clearly have the advantage. They cannot use archery at all btw. Giants cannot duel wield
Elves can only duel wield ONE SPECIFIC kind of sword. Not the best either. They shouldn't really go close combat cuz they can only use a one-handed sword with a shield and have 20% dmg less than giants. Why go close combat, when you can go puppetry and archery and magic? BUT you can also go fighter if you want. Not too bad on elves.
I'm like contradicting myself.. lol
Lets just say each race have their own specialty and you can ignore or make the 10% and 20% a big deal. Up to you

... Just what?
Giants excel at fighter, lance, guns, and alchemy. And if you're doing puppetry you're going to rank your combat tab for the strength that it provides. Sure, you won't be smashing 20k with control bars but you sure as heck can get close to 10k windmills with them.
The only thing humans are best at is puppetry but in most other things, they'll fall short of the other races.

Giants can dual wield maces.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what race you play because no single race is going to give you an outstanding gap in performance over the other.

This is exactly why I shouldn't give advice. I'm still learning :/
Btw, why are humans best at puppetry?

What time is it there right now? I'm in central time zone right now and can only start playing after 3:20pm
As miss Asuna said, dual wield broadswords in a 222 sequence. I just used bastard swords that someone gave me :P

Thanks for the advice. Yeah i got a beginner weapon, already equipped it dont wory.
Also I already am familiar with the combat system.I directly came from SMT which had a similiar battle system that in my opinion was harder, but im still just a beginner here, we'll see what the future holds.
its 7:20 pm where i'm at.
Oh i have to go to alby dungeon now, is that part of the beginner quest or did I go the wrong way?._.

They have the largest base stat pool when you combine dex and str among the races. Str and int are mostly the same between humans and giants which is why there's not too wide of a gap in gunner damage between the two races. Elves get REALLY shafted with their str in the end-game and this is why they fall short in their gunner performance.

Rank it! Smash, windmill, critical hit, and sword mastery should be your immediate priorities right now!
