Don't really wanna keep trying to get into it if it's going to be the way it is forever. It feels totally underwhelming compared to other classes... It's so dumb because I got weaving to rank 1 and everything and now I might drop my elf entirely :/

Elf Range is still "viable". There are stronger talents now, but that doesn't make Elf Range not "viable" anymore.
You can still use Elf Range (or just about any talent) to still faceroll the current content as long as you have the skill levels and stats to do it.

It just seems like a lot of work for not as good payoff. Especially with the shitty latency lag and stuff (Accuracy % not showing what is really there and missing 8/10 magnums)

Range has always been viable, and always will be.
No exception for Elf range.

Maybe I meant good?
My friend was hitting 1k per auto attack with dual guns the other day and it was pretty depressing because unless I start doing 5k per magnum (which I've never seen) it ain't gonna ever live up to that. :(

Uhm Rynii is a she and I have no clue what WoTG is! Those were prob crits, but we were in like hardmode/next level after hardmode.

Was the genderneutralpronounIforgot to say usi- I kid.
Anyways, Way of The Gun is a gun skill that's like the Final Hit of guns, except it forces all of your attacks to be critical hits for the duration. It may have been that they were using at that time.

Range is great, what kind of world are you living in? In fact, I'd choose range over most of the classes.
I do not know what kind of players you play around if you haven't seen 5k mags. I hit over 5k with regular mags easily, and I still have more than 120 dex to cap. There are enough number of players that hit around/over that number to tell you enough about range's position. Also, 1k crit with dual guns is pretty bad, considering I'm hitting 2k crits when I don't have anything except mastery ranked.

There, now you've seen one. My elf is only 1.2k, and barely have any life skills done. But imagine how strong my range would be if I did. I'm sure range will pay off if you do complete it, along with life skills for dex.
From my own experience, playing as an elf ranger, I would say that elf range is decent. It isn't as reliable as I hoped it to be, but it does what it's intended to. It misses at the most awkward times, which may result in death given that a response isn't made quick enough. IMO, human range is better due to the speed. However, elf range has the potential for the highest DPS, and by that, I mean magnum spam, although it isn't really that reliable.
Anyhow, like I said before, it'll pay off if you take it far enough, but you may need reforges in the future to hit "end-game" damage. I would recommend something else for an elf, besides range, and that would be Magic. For high DPS, you can use a CC fire wand, which doesn't miss like magnum. Magic can hit high without reforges, and doesn't require a TON of life skills like ranged does.
Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what you do, weather it may be to drop your elf altogether, or to continue with either range, or magic. Almost any talent will pay off, given enough time and effort.

I'm just kind of sick of the unreliability of range tbh. I came here hoping someone would just tell me it's shit and I'd be done with it but alas it's not as shit as I had assumed it was.
It just ticks me off because 80% should hit 80% of the time, not 1/4.... And I know it's probably on Nexon's side but it's still annoying? My internet is fine, I know for a fact. My ping usually ranges from 70-120. League of Legends server is also located in the West and I get 80 ping from them...

I know that feeling of missing so much. It's annoying. I quit my elf for a few months because of it. Even now, my elf is just my side project. Back when I started my elf, it was "if I miss, I die." I came back to my elf when we got the starlet update, in which we were allowed to use lullaby with any weapon, with r5 song. You should go try that and see how it works. If you hate range, reset your skills, and start something like magic. r5 song + lullaby is useful to magic as well.[/UB]
