[Mabinogi-KR] G19- A Bust?

As far as I'm concerned, this gen was the best thing to happen since Genesis.

G19 is a spectacular bust. Girgash is probably the worst content ever implemented in Mabi.

And really, I think it's really done damage to people's perceptions. This is what we're being offered in terms of combat? A giant hp sponge that you can only deal with through the use of one set of skills combined with guns (at least after WM AI reset is fixed) while invalidating pretty much everything that isn't guns? For rewards that are quite frankly shit?

I'd fire the KR director right now if all we're gonna be getting from here on out are Girgash clones. And the renovation doesn't look good either.

I feel like you're being waaaay too critical about the C6 director. I think the Girgash raid was in a lot of ways good (at least once the WM AI gets fixed) because it requires coordination with your raid party members, which is something that Mabinogi has lacked for a very long time. Up until recently with the addition of the B/W Dragon Raids, and Abyss Dungeons, everything in Mabinogi has been all about you, and literally 0 teamwork (only argument here being possibly the Lord missions as well) and this Girgash raid shows that if you ever try to do it without any team work, it'll just kick your ass.

'Sides, the rewards aren't shit, the Divine Weaponry (in Max roles) are generally top of the line in most cases compared to all the other weaponry in the game.

As for G19 in a storyline perspective, I thought that this Generation was one of the harder ones, and the only thing I see that could be changed in the future is possibly the fact that Celestial Spike, and some of the subskills in general are kinda "meh" compared to the other ones, and I'd hope to see some sort of rebalancing if possible, but even if it doesn't happen, I'd be okay with how things are. Plus Renovation seems like it'll make the Combat skill set more viable, and fun to use.
^^^
This. After the combat change, where we got instant load stuff and monsters were still stuck loading their skills, things changed. Not completely for worse mind you, but they did change. Long before then, back in the times of the old combat, and before the extra stats from talent helping to boost you, people had to either pet summon and attack something, know how to use WM really freaking well, or relay on team work in heavy multi agro situations and pay attention.

Bad example for heavy multi agro, but I chose to avoid that as much as I could in the past, but back in the day, I would run Rundal normal dungeon with a close friend of mine. Both of us using basic melee to get through with some magic for bolt counter or combos and such. It took us a bit to finish the dungeon and rooms even working together because we couldn't just face wreck everything all the time, unlike today. Whenever we'd get into an 8 skele > 4(or 5 or whatever number) red pirate skele > 4 blue pirate skele room, we had paid enough attention throughout the fight to KNOW who was going to agro us and the other person next once our current fight was done. We also looked out for each other in case we made a mistake and brought multi agro on ourselves by attacking the wrong next skele in the line up.

But in the current time, no one pays attention to that sort of thing, generally. People just care about face wrecking everything as fast as possible, and when they can't do that, they don't pay attention to others as much or the next agro in the line up. They don't get penalized for this much thanks to most people owning AoE pets to cover their asses instead of using other skills and team work, and the monsters have to load their skills, meaning unless it's heavy multi agro, we just beat them to every skill they try and use. It's loading smash? Lol mines better and faster~ Counter? I'll N+smash you anyway because you can't get it off in time like me!~

This raid, once/if WM ai gets changed, will be a nice change of pace. Hopefully demanding teamwork or death. It's hard to find a group of people currently who know what they're doing. That can be said for almost anything in this game sadly when it comes to combat, because all people know to do is wreck everything as fast as you can first, focus on what's going on later.

I feel most people hate it, not because of the skills used for it, but because it's such a dramatic change from just killing everything asap with pet AoE spam to get you out of tight spots. Granted AoE pets still get you out a few things with the boss.

Bleh, I'm rambling now. I think I made my point, dunno. Someone's bound to get what I mean.

Oh though, don't get me wrong. The rewards are annoying as fuck. I killed a single ancient black griz and got more exp than doing the easy raid. >.>
