I said that to reference that part of the story, since that's one of the big moments that really grabbed people. Realistically tell me how much was revealed about Asuna by that point, literally nothing. They only did slightly better in Season 2 but again it's not even SAO anymore.
Well, we do learn a little bit about Asuna in ALO, and a little more after GGO. You're right though, we don't know much. I think I grew to like her as a character because of her general attitude in SAO and then everything that happened in ALO.
And Intimacy is right, Log Horizon is a really good show too...

Alisiation arc is pretty nice. While the focus is on Kirito, we get to see Asuna trying to save him.

If this is truly your opinion of the show, I have to ask, how far into it did you watch?
10-15 or so
It really doesn't matter how much far I gotten, the writing and the characters has always been criticized.
Honestly there's a knowyourmeme article on based on the writing.

Your basing your shitposting on what exactly?
If I tend to have the opposite opinion I'd be a some manchild who obsesses over kids shows My Little Pony and Kim Possible.
Hey wait a minute...
I didn't mean it as insult, it's just what I observed. No need to be angsty lol.

And I'm just saying I'd be some manchild if what you said was true.

Why would that be the case? I consider that more of a personal quirk than immaturity. Your taste is different, how is that being a manchild?

While I dislike the franchise, I don't take one's opinion seriously if they used the term weaboo, much like how we don't take the opinion of middle easterners seriously whenever they call western women whores.

This confirms my theory that the author was wanking himself when he wrote this. I think the anime would have been better if it had gone full Shonen and done an episode for every single floor boss, with filler episodes in between. The SOA world was actually interesting, and I liked seeing how the game mechanics were applied. The ALO arc just got weird with a completely cartoonish villain and that kinky incest plot.

Yeah it's too bad the author had a boner throughout the whole series. I 100% agree with the bold. That's how the series should have been done.

I also agree. When I first started watching SAO I was thinking, "Why do they keep skipping ahead? They could have done an episode for every floor".

That wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't skipped over the rest. If we'd actually seen them progress through each floor, it might have actually been a decent twist.

Yeah, that seems like a bad idea the way they hurried to the end of SAO season 1 like that...(if that counts as the end of S1...)
Even though I don't think it's fully available in English, people say the PS Vita SAO game lets you go all the way up...buuut irrelevant data.
The latest of the dub seems interesting...somehow (after the rest of SAO),I think I like SAO's English dub...

well he did start a new light novel which is a progressive version of SAO.
The first book only go over floor 1-2-3

The whole anime seems really rushed.
- SAO arc: Too many timeskips, threw in a lot of concepts that weren't executed (for example, the last 1/4th floors).
- ALO arc: Only focused on kinky incest. Kirito and Leafa only go from one capital to the center of the world, without exploring all other major places. Heck, more than half of the ALO races weren't introduced. Even though Kirito's friends join ALO, they're all the ONLY one member of their race that's ever encountered.
- GGO arc: Kirito just hung out at a single tournament. The game was very unexplored and unexplained, and then abandoned.
"Fuck you. You murdered me." I'm honestly surprised someone actually said the F word in an anime...
