It's pretty bang up but still works.
I'm happy because I've been trying to save up for a bicycle all summer then I lost my money.
It still needs fixing, but I'm sure it's just a matter of just adjusting the screws tighter.

I'd love a bike, havent rode one in years.

Aside from the ride today I haven't rode one in years either.
I honestly thought I was dreaming for 20 minutes because I was just so happy I found it. Bikes in decent conditions are so hard to find.
I'm glad I got one in time for school, I'll ask someone to fix it first though.

It was outside at like 3:30 AM, wasn't chained up to anything, pretty bad shape, was next to the piles thrash due to (college kids moving out).
One thing I forgot to mention is that it stinks, it must have been there for awhile as soon as I made the post I didn't realize I smelled horrible so went to go take a bath.
The garbage trucks come at 4:00 AM, if I didn't get it, it garbage men would have.
But don't worry I plan on checking craigslist through the week to see if I accidentally did steal someone bike by accident before saving money to upgrade it, but given the circumstances I doubt I did.

The things people throw away I swear...
What I did with my old bike that was beat up was take it to a bike shop who happened to give old bike parts to charity so I gave it to them.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. All of the shit i see in the trash at work because of people being fucking stupid.
A large box of MTG cards tossed away, some even had card covers on them. Only thing we can do it wait a few weeks and into the trash it goes.

I bought a nice bike earlier this summer. Best purchase I've made in a long time. :D

Yes, people do it all the time. It's called dumpster diving. Heck, I was too lazy to take my cans to a recycling center and just threw it in the trash. Next door neighbor must have watched me do it and went in to fetch them.
You walk around a city on any given trash day and I can guarantee you, that you will find some poor saps/homeless people going around with a cart/trash bag going through the trash picking up thrown out soda cans/bottles.
It's the cycle of the universe. Some humans waste things, other humans take advantage of said waste and use it to better themselves.
...
Hopefully...

It's a sad but effective reminder that all is not yet ok enough to be complacent when you see homeless people sticking their hand into a trash can and risk getting infected in the middle of a public square on a bright day...
