I'm actually not playing Mabinogi right now. I'm outside NA Mabi's service area and I don't have a KSSN for KR Mabi.
I could probably use a VPN or proxy to bypass the IP block but i'm not sure if its worth it. Latency would be a very real issue unless there's some sort of miraculous tunnel to California that I don't know about.

He's in the country Korea. He can't play KR Mabinogi because of the reason he stated, and NA is due to IP block and the lag would be pretty bad anyways.

You need a KSSN to register for a Korean Mabinogi account, he doesn't have that because he is not a Korean citizen.
Looks like our little Chen beat me to it!

Not too terrible. I was in the midwest playing mabi KR, and i was able to do moderately fine with time warner's low grade net.

That's from US to Korea. I'm unsure how good of internet he's getting over there. Also ya, the lag is manageable from East Coast to KR. I mean I do get skill lag but it's playable to say the very least. I just like to think that I'm playing the old non instant load skill version of Mabi :P

I've heard that Korean internet connections are better than those in the US. The higher population density provides a nice incentive for providers to kick it up a few notches in performance.
Someone that used to moderate a forum I've been on for years moved to South Korea to live. She says she fits in more there than she ever has anywhere in the US, and this is coming from a former US Marine. The only real hurdle is learning the language there.
Not sure how hard it is to get a KSSN. I would expect them to have something similar to the US Green Card system for people living and working there that haven't become full citizens yet.

An earlier post of mine had a recent speed test.
...and obtaining dual citizenship isn't something that i'm willing to do. That would require me to serve two years in the korean military and it would cancel my follow on assignment to japan.
