Deep down I still want to enjoy the game because it has so much potential, but it's become too repetitive and doesn't cater well to anyone except new players. I had fun helping new players, but new players hype stopped the last month, doki doki grind fest scared new players the hell out of them, and most of them are gone now, Tir now is just filled with afk fashinogies, and a very few new players. Sky high prices also scared some others, so in a part some gacha price-controllers players are to blame a little, but as the OP said, the lack of real challenging content is the real big problem

That content will be on the hand of those that spam reforges like there's no tomorrow. Reforges used to be the biggest nexon's money source, not anymore, now its all about gachas, and they could take advantage of that and remove reforges forever (or nerf them to a small paid bonus system).
Another thing that needs to be changed to it's original way to work, is the skill loading time, or give monsters the same dynamic system.
Another thing about mabinogi is that they don't really work on the enemy AI anymore, they keep recycling the same old AIs.

adding to what i already said:
-give enemies access to the same skills as milletians.... nothing in sight, besides MA ...
-Revamp dungeons, a fresh character can pown ciar the first time, that says something nexon...
-Nerf all the ways to heal but skills, so healers become useful for once (and prevent alchs being healed while they have LD loaded?)
-Change the way some skills work, like lullaby
-extend the commerce routes to iria
-work on guilds features for once, they are nothing but a chat box, besides owning a castle that's it
-no one says it but nerf those speed reforges and bonus on commerce (more than one will hate me i know, idc)
-some bosses can dissable your skills (the girl from the Halloween event ie), apply that to more bosses, and let's see what happens
-nerf the AoE skills, unless they change to use a lot of stamina/mp, if that happens, remember to nerf potions
-now the game is TOO newbie friendly, nerf that ....
-Revamp enemies, not their HP!! but stats like their damage (since most of them are just fixed) and str/int/will/dex
many more things come to my mind but i think those are the most relevant ones....
As for now, mabi is nothing but a dress up game, deal with it, you can be hitting 100k+, but thats useless untill there's something on this game worth that damage
having a pair of angel wings is way more relevant than 1HKO a white dragon now
