  Assuming this is low rank dahren caravan quest.
  Jump on his back when he gets close. Break his blowhole, and place those anti dragon bombs.
  Mining heals him for a bit.
  
  Are you hitting him with the drakonator, or do you not do enough damage for him to hang around the front of your ship.
  Use the ballista and aim for his horn.
  
  When fighting in the final stage. Swing at his arms until he falls, and then run up his back. Place the anti dragon bombs if you still have any.
  
  If you played mh3u, this guy is sooooo much easier than jhen

  Except when you fight alternate dah'ren.
  
  I call him douchebag, that version just attacks and will not let you on.
  Until final stage that is.
