What's the best way of making Zenny and Caravan Points, especially the latter?

I'm killing all the monsters with nothing but Crag Shot lv.1 rapid fire x3 + artillery god. I guess you could say, I'm having a blast. *rimshot*

Seems like the easiest way to make caravan points is taking on the hardest mission you can in the shortest amount of time possible and spamming it, or just running expeditions and killing all the large monsters you see. What you kill depends where you are in the game and your playstyle. I find the fastest way to make Zenny is to make a capture set and sell off all the rewards, which can also get Caravan points quickly too.

Grenade Launcher+ actually. I have a Demon's Isle but not the materials to upgrade it to Demon's Island which gives it capability to rapid fire Crag 1s. Being able to rapid fire Normal lv2 would be nice for longer missions.

Selling Ancient weapons, Each one is like 20k and you get a good amount of em from expeditions. Other than that sell monster parts that you have a lot of.
I run 2 Stamina Palico for grudge.
and 3 thriving or healing.

Hm, would Patissier with 90 def on each, giving me ~500 defense in all, help me survive through G-rank missions?
Also, which is better: a dual blade with 350 attack, 300 dragon, 40% affinity, 1 deco slot, and moderately-high white and moderately-low blue/green sharpness; a dual blade with 364 attack, 330 thunder, 360 dragon, 0% affinity, 1 deco slot, and high blue and moderately low white/green sharpness; or a dual blade with 406 attack, 360 thunder, 410 dragon, no deco slots, and very little white/blue/green sharpness?

What are some good high rank armors for insect glaive? Right now I'm just using low rank Tetsucabra, Barroth, or Zinogre since that is all I cared to make and have yet to make anything for high rank.

My basic armor for high rank is normally Veloicprey S for the attack boost. I plan to get it to XL soon.

An easy if boring way to make money is to fish at Dundorma. Where the bridge is there's a small body of water off to the left filled with coinperch of various sizes and some other fish.

The most important thing for survivability is your own skill at the game. At G-rank there are attacks that will do overwhelming damage regardless of your defense. That being said, pick your armour for skills (Patissier doesn't really have a great skillset) and not defense being that any relevant armour set will provide the defense required.

Any weapon with high elemental is going to be very specific in where it shines being that on some monsters the added element has 0 effect. For some weapons like dual blade the consideration of element is more important and so you really need to consider your target as to which weapon will be better. Ignoring that, DBs eat through sharpness quickly so you probably want as much of the higher sharpness as you can get unless you want to be constantly sharpening. According to kiranico the sharpness modifiers have been updated for 4U to make it a bit more linear with white being 1.32, blue being 1.25 and green being 1.125 (1.125, 1.0625 and 1 respectively for element). Affinity as I've told you is a 2.5% increase in dps for every 10%. In your specific case the first one is probably the better all round weapon.

Probably wanna use an Attack UP XL set or the Handicraft +1/Attack up L set to tide you over till G rank. If this were like the previous games your options would be more open but with the way 4U is it's generally better just to boost your attack up for low/high rank if you're comfortable with the game. If you're new-ish then tetsu is a safe option.

Any idea what the names of them are/name of the monster they come from? Insect glaive pretty much makes this game easy mode, but Tetsu is just a decent armor.

Something tells me i've been armouring wrong. *stares at barroth helm nerscylla mail konchu vambraces selta faulds and lobster greaves*
I just kept making what gave me the most defense per slot upgrade LOL I mean, i've killed gore magala with relative ease so far so i've got that going for me at least. Would it be worth the effort to bite the bullet and just farm that black bastard for a real set of armour?

I'm confused. Are dual elemental weapons useful or not? I have a dual blade with fire/poison and a dual blade with ice/water.

Velociprey S/Rathalos S can be gemmed for Attack Up XL with a three slot talisman. If you want a Sharpness +1 set that can be gemmed for Attack Up L with a three slot talisman it's:
Skull Visage
Velociprey S
Gravios S
Chrome Faulds
Tetsu S

The thing about defense is that all armour of similar level gives the same sort of defense so there's not much point in not going for skills. Compared to your current set, a full set of
tetsucabra has basically the same defense just from the base stats and then has bonus def and health on top of that (with a talisman you could get even more def/health). If the going is easy then you could go for
Velociprey armour which is easily gemmed for at least Attack Up Medium which provides a substantial attack boost early on. Don't go for LR Gore though (unless you really want to for looks or something), the skills aren't very good and it has terrible fire resistance. You can gem out some of that but why even bother?

Depends on the target. Fire/poison however is not dual element.
