Okay so I bought this wonderful laptop:
Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS5534-1121 NoteBook AMD Athlon X2 L310(1.20GHz) 15.6" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR2 667 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Radeon HD 3200
For its price what I was getting was fantastic. Right?
I knew there had to be some catch.
Now I've only played around with it for a few hours, but I'm already facing a lot of things I don't like.
1. File transfers very slow. Disc writing is terrible on this computer.
2. I tried Touhou. The game slows down in object intensive moments.
3. I tried SC2, and at the lowest settings I'm getting terrible frame rates. Almost unplayable when there are more than 3 players. This can't be right, the computer specs are far above the minimal requirements.
Another issue. I can't hold more than 4 keys at once. The fifth key doesn't register.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Theres nothing wrong with it.
Its not the best, but HD3200 is actually above RECOMMENDED requirements for SC2.
Nor should it have anything to do with disc writing speed or freaking TOUHOU.

Errr, the processor doesn't seem to powerful. The graphics card isn't the best, but it should do, even though it's integrated..
It may be good for just surfing around and doing general things, nothing more.
Just my opinion though..
If you feel you have a problem with it though, just send a message to Newegg, maybe they can take a look at it for you?

Yeah but there has to be something else to it.
The thing meets the minimal requirements, and on many parts even meet the recommended requirement.

That's the same for my old laptop. It said I was able to run TF2 on high, but I wasn't. It went very slow.

If the cooling system sucks, it probably won't work too well. And that processor seems pretty bad... They make single cores that do better for like $30

It does seem like the requirements are met, but something does seem to be off.
I mean... I can play Touhou, Mabinogi, and Starcraft 2 (although with some lags) with my 8-year-old IBM laptop, and you know how they are
Here's what i see that's a problem.
1.2 GHz?! That's a bit low... my epic sucky laptop right now has 1.6
Usually, Home Edition for XP is suckier than XP Professional. That might be the problem (Notice it says Windows 7 Home Premium). Don't get me wrong. I have NO experience with Windows 7, so this is just my guess.
Finally, if nothing works, open up "taskmgr" using "run" and see if there's other processes slowing you down. This is what happens usually with my computer(s)
svchost.exe, Mcshield.exe and other crap is a bish when I play mabi. If i get a sudden lag spike, this is usually the case

read this:
ATI Radeon HD 3200 - Notebookcheck
it's integrated graphics, albeit high end
some games can only utilize 1 core of the cpu, so that's why it might run slow

Newegg.com - TOSHIBA Satellite C655D-S5057 NoteBook AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320(2.10GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
That might have been a better buy... 2.1GHz CPU and DDR3 RAM for just a bit more.
Most keyboards now won't register more than 3 keys at a time. Only mechanical switch keyboards do that. However, they are more expensive and usually marketed as "professional" or "gaming" keyboards.

I say it is the CPU. A slow CPU can explain all of your problems. Processing data for reading and writing is slow making file transfers and disc writing slow. During object intensive moments in touhou there is too much for your CPU to calculate at normal speed. Also note Touhou might not be programmed to properly utilize multi-cores. And as for SC2, your CPU is way under the recommended specs. Your gaming rig is only as fast as your slowest piece of hardware

Your writing speed, hmm... RAM looks fine to me, so I guess it's the processor.
Also, since you're using a notebook (Looks like a step away from a full-fledged laptop to me), your hardware's performance is more susceptible to heat and ventilation. Especially the processor, since it won't function at peak capacity when it's too hot, and trust me, it will get extremely hot frequently when playing those games on that kind of notebook. Either find a well-ventilated and cool area to play on that notebook, or buy a quality laptop fan to put underneath. The difference between a hot, poorly-ventilated gaming laptop and a cool, well-ventilated one is astounding.

Get a dxdiag (run from start menu) report and paste whatever you see there for system and display tabs over here.
Other than heat issues, it could be hardware or driver problems.

God dammit.
I bought the lappy thinking EACH of the processors were 1.20 GHz and I would be getting more with the duo.

Each of the cores are 1.2GHz. It's still very slow compared to other products.
