Oh cool, their thinking about fixing ninja. I had some ninja ideas , but im interested in seeing what Nexon does. I hope they make it feels like a legitimate class, instead of a crummy version of night lord from maple.

Anti-anything Japanese isn't that weird when you consider the sheer amount of animosity between the two nations. If anything, the issues the two nations have with one another has been understated.

Sure, but the cycle of hatred will go on and on.
It's not like talking about it here will solve anything, so I won't go on about it.
...
Anyways, people will still play even if Ninja comes to KR without any changes.
Take Full Metal Alchemist, AnoHana, Vocaloid and Sword Art Online for example.
I don't see any problems with Mabinogi's profitability.

Wowie everyone here jumping ship on the "Koreans don't like Japanese culture" bandwagon here... Come on, they're not that xenophobic. The target demographic for Mabinogi in KR are (generally) anime lovers, and in fact, anime is pretty popular in Korea too. SNK was huge when it was first released.
I think KR is opposed for the same reason they were upset about scooters and guns. It doesn't fit the concept. Why in the world was there any need to introduce modern technology into a game that is western fantasy? And likewise, what in the world are ancient eastern warriors doing in a western fantasy game?

Mabi is actually one of the less profitable games in the Nexon portfolio. Evidently it's profitable enough to keep going but it features less and less and has since been excluded from the publications Nexon HQ makes for reporting on the financial situation of the company.

Probably wise that I'm investing less and less time in Mabinogi then. I see a lot more promise playing Runescape than playing Mabinogi. I could go on and on about that for ages so for now I'll leave it at that.
Regardless, I wouldn't get my hopes up on anything significant changing on ninja that will be noteworthy.

While your overall point has merit I should point out that the issue Korea has with Japan isn't xenophobia (the average modern Korean isn't xenophobic at all). It's a very specific issue with Japan (well also China to some degree though nowhere near as much) that takes a lot more explaining than I'd like to go into (Ironwoman posted a small explanation but it goes further than that). Long story short it's based in history but it also pervades modern issues and friction continues to . It's interesting that you mention SnK because in more recent times it's also been the focus of huge anti-Japanese sentiment for various reasons to do with this.

Speaking as a player that has an origin hailing from KR grounds, I'm pretty sure I'm able to give you more insight on the matter.
You won't see this attitude just from this game, or gaming ground for that matter. Like Mystickskye mentioned, there's lot more issues than historical issue. One another major issue is the politicial dispute, like the Dokdo/Takeshima debate and the East Sea/Sea of Japan debate, and I wish I could list more, but that would be too long of a list.
Either ways, Ninja getting protested is silly.

Hope they're not planning to remove it.. lore wise they could simply change the name, maybe like in MS a Rogue or Assassin. (id have prefered a class like that but i think its fine as it is overall)
If anything they could change it being based on str and will to dex and will, it would make much more sense (armor pierce and crit focus) and it would decrease the number of plate armored ninjas running around AND let elves get the most benefit for once.
Or at least change the combat running animation, remove a few steps so it doesnt looks silly.

I think a combination of ranger/rogue might fit the theme more than an assassin.
Could just like, reskin Sakura Abyss to be some foresty leaf summoning attack.
智訓 used Razor Leaf!

I think someone pointed earlier how changing it from str/will to will/dex would create issues. Not sure if it was these forums or Nexon forums though. But yeah I'm pretty sure they wouldn't change the contributing stats... maybe change the dmg formula a bit, maybe some of the skill effects ( I.E smokescreen) or add a skill or two, but it's also highly likely it won't change much if at all.

What was KR's opinion on these Japan crossovers?

Some people liked it, some people didn't, for the similar reasons mentioned already.
It's a phenomenon that is seen between countries with some sort of tension between. In Korea and Japan's case, it's not an explicit tension.

They said they're considering adding Ninja to KR, not changing it from it's JP/NA state. It's always possible they will change stuff but its doubtful. This is a filler update for KR. It's something to hold off the players while they do something else, like the Vocaloid update was in NA. I expect as little effort as possible outside of localization.

Actually Mabi's world is quite advanced. Dunbarton, even before the Hero updates, had electric street lamps. The first electric street lamp was invented in the late 1800s. The first scooters were in the early 1800s. The first guns were a few hundred years earlier as well. Mabi's world doesn't quite fit in the whole "western fantasy" motif. Alchemy in mabi is also based on medival alchemy and not more ancient cultures with alchemy.
Mabi is a game that takes place in the, I'd say 1600s~1800s, with characters from stories dating before christ, that doesn't mean it was meant to take place back then. There are a lot of things more out of place in mabi than recent skillsets.

so ninja it's staying high priority for stats, but low on quality ? I hope not.
