Did you watch the entire anime before throwing in that judgement? I will admit that the beginning of the anime isn't exactly the best. However, the latter half of the anime I thoroughly enjoyed. It got really really interesting and good in the second half of the anime.
I also really enjoyed the art style. Anyways I keep checking back on the KR website hoping to see it pop up. When we do get it, I'll probably buy all the outfits and hold a bunch of live streams regarding it.
Yes, I saw the whole anime. I even witnessed a sunny England. Hilarious! I can't even count how many times they re-used the animation with kiritsugu, both saving shirou and chilling with him at their home. In fact, UBW's strength comes from the earlier part of the series, where the fight scenes were most abundant. Later on it got filled with generic 2006 teenage drama and dialogue, later fight scenes not being as extravagant as before. Fate Zero was mostly the same way, where it's a lot of dialogue and character interaction, but at least Zero had the writing and direction to back it up.
Simply put, despite it being a great adaptation from UFOtable, it's still bad because the source material is bad. Nasu is a hack!

Is this something I should watch?
If so, should I watch the original series first? And should I watch the movie or the series for unlimited blade works?
Asking because I forced myself to watch SAO for *that* crossover, and was thoroughly unimpressed (it was awful)
I would highly recommend you watch at least Fate/Zero as that's a prequel to Fate/Stay Night. You won't understand Fate/Stay Night UBW without watching Fate/Zero anyways as that establishes a lot of the plot for Unlimited Blade Works.
Fate/Stay Night isn't too bad. I enjoyed it and I know a couple other people that enjoyed it. There are those who hated it for various reasons as well. So hard to say weither you will enjoy it or not.

Did you hate the original fate stay night or the new one which was just finished (I think)? The newer one is far better. It's no fate zero but it's pretty good and has some good action scenes (Kuzuki vs Saber? win)

I never watched the original Fate stay night so I can't speak for the original. The one episode I saw while waiting for the new one to catch up made me retch cause of how terrible the animation was in comparison to the newer one. Thus all my opinions are based on the newest one that just recently finished which is what the crossover is being based off of.

Being far better than the DEEN's fate stay night isn't much of an accomplishment. "People die if they are killed."

"just because you are correct, doesn't mean you're right"
To be fair it's not entirely their fault. It's a case of lost in translation. Some Japanese phrases don't translate well into English which results in that sort of redudant statement.
In your example, The quote itself plays on an idiom that describes tough individuals who “won’t die if they are killedâ€.
Oh right forgot another example:

Also to be fair, even the game translation did it themselves. I think it's unfair to pick on the anime for this phrase. It's become kind of ironic when you think about it.

Thanks for driving my point further on UBW's terrible writing!

I think you are being a little too harsh on it still. Just because it has some redundant phrases doesn't mean the entire thing is awful.
Would you say Kill la kill is a horrible anime just because of this?

If you say yes, I have nothing for you then.

Kill la Kill is really tounge-in-cheek, you can't compare the two.

Well at least that was the only thing that was basically redundant, and only was repeated about two or three times throughout the entire anime. There could be worse.

The point is, there is a logical explanation about the phrase when you think of it.
People die when they are killed is about people who refuse to die even when someone "kills" them. As in they obtain an injury that should have killed them but they don't die. Shirou has Saber's Scabbard embedded in him so hey may not die if he receives a fatal injury.
The Archer class is really made up of archers is a play on the fact that she called Archer, archer before he showed any archery skills as he started off using primarily melee attacks.
Finally we move on to, "Just because you are correct, doesn't mean you're right" What that is about is he knows Archer is correct in the facts he's saying but he doesn't think his line of thinking is the right way to go about it.
If you think a bit about it, it will make a lot more sense. Sure it seems redundant on the outside until you start looking into the deeper meaning behind the words

I like a lot of Nasu's stuff. I love Tsukihime, am completely eh on FSN, and I quite like Kara No Kyoukai.
Nasu is capable of creating amazing and interesting worlds, writing thoughtfully interesting concepts and although his weakness is normally characters he does have just a couple of really great ones.
Nasu is an individual capable of writing absolutely wonderfully, and also like utter shit.
I wouldn't call him a hack though.

Just wanted to point out that THIS sentence isn't even an original FSN Sentence....
There's a lot of great Animes and Movies that use this phrase and it's meant exactly how King explained.
I know this may sound rude and i'm really trying to stay as nice saying this as i can
But just because you're not smart enough to understand a sentence it doesn't make it stupid.

Anyways my predictions were incorrect. KR decided to do more filler event crap with throwing free stuff at people and 2x events.
Wtf is KR even doing. No G20, No Fate/Stay Night. Their delay is making NA delay :(
Thus far, KR's summer updates have been absolutely pathetic.
