it's not really dying now, but it will be once nexon releases the new games
I must be out of the loop, what new games?

Unfortunately Mabinogi 2 (which is a sort of Diablo clone with Mabinogi aspects) was cancelled, and people in korea are heralding Peria Chronicles (formerlly known as Project NT) the next true Mabinogi. (Mind you Peria is a sandbox game with minimal focus on story. It's still really different.)
But he said Maplestory 2.

I've noticed that the last two people to make these threads were low leveled characters.
Not only that, but fairly new players.
If you haven't played the game for at least three years, you really can't make a statement about how it's "dying".
Ruairi feels dead...
Then again it picks up a decent amount during the summer. I also think that they should do a server merge.
If the population bars are correct during character creation that means Ruairi is the server with the least amount of people that play in it and Tarlach has passed us
I have been playing this game for about 7 years and if anything... Nexon are actually doing a better job with this game than Nexon was few years ago.
I didn't write that line under the impression that she said Mabinogi 2, I was saying since Mabinogi 2 was cancelled, people are praising Peria Chronicles as the next Mabinogi.
It is a shame Mabinogi 2 was cancelled, combat in Mabinogi 2 is at least reminiscent of combat back in C1, where it is largely timing-stun based. (With elements from Vindictus such as smash combos and a destructible environment. I think you were also vulnerable when drinking potions like in vindictus? Not 100% sure on that one.) Mabinogi 2 also had limited body types like in Vindictus, but they weren't class locked like in Vindictus, any body type could use any skillset. Also unlike Vindictus, Mabinogi 2 was supposed to have an overworld and not be a lobby-based MMO, but that was never shown in any footage, only on paper.
MapleStory 2 isn't that similar to Mabinogi though. MapleStory 2 has grid based combat (like a healing AoEs has a radius of four or so blocks I think) and a destructable environment. I tried to get into the betas but I keep getting rejected.
Tree of Savior is exactly like Ragnarok 1 from what I hear, but I barely played Ragnarok at all. I don't know much about this game. I tried to get into the betas, I even filled out the survey for that one test in proper Korean grammar and got rejected, and someone else who filled it out in English got accepted. . . This game is also completely different to Mabinogi, not sure why it would draw attention away from Mabi.
Peria Chronicles has both summon-based combat in addition to player-weapon based combat (Archery confirmed, not sure I've seen a non-summon use any other form of combat). In addition to custom modes of combat players can program into the game (Peria Chronicles lets players program games within the game). Of the three that Kazasu mentioned, this is the most Mabi-like, but its still really different.
