Murderers is an exaggeration by most means, but aggressiveness is generally accepted by most studies, found on such reputable sources such as psychology today.

Some say the agression is due to frustration rather than violent content, which I also find believable. Many DSes have broke when I fail at pokemon.
Though in all fairness, there's a newer study(s) you can find that states no correlation.
In the end, it depends on the person. Some people can view pornagraphy just fine and not be any more sexist than the day before.
as for my gamergate story, wikipedia told me this.
"game developers Zoe Quinn and Brianna Wu and feminist cultural critic Anita Sarkeesian, were subjected to a sustained campaign of misogynistic attacks. The campaign was coordinated in the online forums of Reddit, 4chan, and 8chan in an anonymous and amorphous movement that ultimately came to be represented by the Twitter hashtag #gamergate. The harassment included doxing, threats of rape, death threats and the threat of a mass shooting at a university speaking event"
Rape threats are generally considered sexist AND misogynistic, as rape is a very sexist and very misogynistic crime.
