This is a thread about things you're tired of seeing in anime.
I'll start.
1. The "I am totally worthless in every way until my friend is in trouble then I become god" protagonist
2. The "Nothing can be serious for longer than 5 seconds because I can't stop fantasizing about everyone's tits and constantly spazzing out like I have some sort of mental disorder and most of my fighting involves groping/stripping my opponent" protagonist.
3. The "Women should never fight even if they want to/like it/are strong enough to take care of themselves and I am going to do everything in my power to stop them even though NO ONE wants me to!" protagonist.
4. Hey, lets take an awesome storyline, then ruin it with boring characters and focus so much on fan service we forget there even IS a story by the second episode
5. Hey, lets kill off this beloved character for shock value just to piss people off even though it in no way advances the plot.
6. Hey, lets start 20 new plot points then never go back to them again leaving them all unanswered after the series ends. (I know this is usually because the series got cancelled before it could finish properly, but it still annoys me)

One thing comes to mind:
Male protagonist who claims to be heterosexual, but freaks out and runs away when a girl tries to hit on them, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I hate excessive flashbacks. They get especially annoying if you're marathoning something and they spend half the episode flashing back to the episode you JUST watched 5 minutes ago.

harem... seriously die in a fire harem. And slice of life is next. I am living in a life right now, I don't need to watch someone else living that shit.

I don't mind the ocassional harem as long as its not the main focus of the show. But yeah, recently it seems like every other anime is harem.
I feel the same way about Slice of Life though. Same with playing the Sims. Why would I want to watch someone else have a normal boring life? I already have one. Lol.

Long, drawn-out battles and training periods lasting dozens of episodes, retardedly huge swords, tsundere, yandere, any sort of out of place fucktard character for comic relief, in fact any attempt at comic relief.

It doesn't feel boring with me. They usually mix it with humor or drama.
I am tired of exploitative works, trivialization, and ofc overly masturbatory fantasies.. For example, Akame Ga Kill was highly (Okay, sortof) exploitative of adult elements like face flaying for shock value. I hated NGNL for pushing the fact that Losers can become winners without changing anything about themselves. I felt Clannad was to a point exploitative as well (Seriously, that basketball BS). I mean, does anyone act real?

You're no fun.

Just because I have basic standards for fun doesn't mean I'm not fun... Animes are just usually horrible at it. It's like they all pray at Jar Jar Binks altars before going to work.
And honestly, if they're going to make something about a sad topic but negate that with some out of place comic relief, they might as well not do it at all. Comic relief is a terrible device with or without Jar Jar, I can't take it seriously.
And yes, I hate C3PO too, piece of trash should've been burned "alive" by the Jawas. Star Wars is overrated. Darth Vader and Star Destroyers are still cool as hell though.

Conversely, lets just make sure no named character ever actually dies, making every supposedly suspenseful or shocking moment ultimately fall flat. >Looking at you Bleach.

beta male protagonists that are made to be "easy to connect with"
the red string of fate that they always have with many pretty girls
any strange colored hair
any story that involves going to a certain school to fulfill dreams
having hair, eye color, and fashion be the only way to tell characters apart
no parents, decent house, cute siblings
exaggerated damage, no real injury
implied homosexuality to rile up audience without actually delivering
cast's imperfections are only in their cookie cutter personalities, physical unwanted traits are very miniscule but warrant attention
a bunch of strange people surrounding the protagonist
any use of 「ãˆãˆãˆãˆãˆãˆï¼Ÿã€ã€€Or 「ãゃã‚ã‚ã‚ã‚ï¼ã€
well to be honest i just hate almost every anime that features a male protagonist (unless it's a seinen)
