  No worries! I just recently got my own license. Except I've never needed to parallel park, it's not very common where I live. haha
  
  I'll probably be fucked if I ever need to. I'm not too fond of driving though, between a lot of red light runners and people driving over medians into oncoming traffic, driving around my university is hellish. I have friends who have avoided going to the main campus just to avoid the roads around there. I liked driving until I was introduced to that area. Now driving is endless anxiety. ; ;

My program offers a lot of internship opportunities in various different types of field work, so I want to take advantage of that every semester and get a variety of experience. Hopefully I can get accepted to a teaching assistantship program for grad school and have my tuition waived so I can stay completely debt free. Or well that's my current goal. [x
  
  After two years of taking classes, I really discovered my passions and strengths and was inspired after talking to a lot of my professors. I also discovered through tutoring that I enjoy teaching. My weird masochistic side also gets a kick out of writing papers. So, there's that. My future of begging for a non-existent tenure track position or even a contract after countless years of schooling looks bright! But, I'm happy.

  What about a state issued identification card? Usually you can pick them up at your local DMV for a small fee and they work as an ID without the whole driving privilege. You should check out your specific state requirements. In Florida it's bring in something like a passport or birth certificate, social security card, proof of residency, and 25$.

  My life is busy but good.
  Considering going to a new job that will (possibly, need to confirm) pay more while not keeping me as busy, so I can focus on other things. Also planning to buy a place within the next year.

  My boyfriend and I recently started house hunting together a few weeks ago! (although he's the one buying the home, I'll just be contributing a percentage of whatever I make to help out with monthly costs since I'm still a poor student) Time to leave behind the one bedroom apartment. It's kind of overwhelming looking at places, there's so many factors that go into a home along with the fact that the nice places in the best areas go off the market within one to three days easily. There's hardly anytime to really mull over a house, so you need to go into it knowing exactly what you want and what to look for. Our realtor has it set up to where we get emailed notifications as soon as a property fitting our requirements comes on the market.

  Condos grow like mushrooms here, and actual homes are too expensive. I'm not looking yet since I need to get a few things done first, but my criteria are pretty simple:
  1) near a metro
  2) modern building that respects modern standards
  3) large enough internal space
  4) good internet service available to that address
  
  pretty much it. as long as I'm near a metro station I can access easily everything I need in the city. If the building is modern and respects modern standards it isn't gonna need lots of improvements. And the interior of a home is easy to change so I'm not going to be ultra picky about that.

  I've learned a lot about love and commitment and relationships with him. His name is Andrew, btw. It not only taught me what I didn't know, but it also taught me that some of those things that I did in those other past relationships that failed were in fact the right things and that I just really just had to find the right person who was going to love me for me, you know?
  
  I used to not value myself as much, I guess, now looking back. It's the only reason why I settled for less.
  
  Anywho, I'm still finishing my bachelor's. Trying to be a physics teacher!

  I favor the coziness of smaller places, but together we're outgrowing the apartment. There's no place for either of us to get space from one another which is important in a long term relationship. haha He's also tired of renting as the rent has been increasing every renewal by quite a bit and would like to put the money towards owning something.
  
  One of the benefits of a house will be having potential office space/getaway space and a guest bedroom. We both have a lot of out of town friends we'd like to come stay with us and it's a bonus for them to not have to sleep on a couch. Plus, I really want to adopt a dog at some point in the next year or two! Adorable fluffy border collies need lots of space.
  
  As an added bonus to home ownership, Florida houses come equipped with fun pools more often than not.

  Some of the nicest properties here are near nothing. It makes me sad. Since you're in a city, out of curiosity what's the price of homes like there? We've been looking in suburban areas so we don't have the price tag of a big city. My association with larger cities is a steep price tag for location with very little sqft as the trade off. :llama_dizzy:

  But yeah, I really am happy for you! I've hardly spoken to you and never outside of this forum, but in my memory you've always been one of the most positive influences and upbeat people here. Like many of us, you valued yourself much lower than what you should have. I think it's heart warmingly wonderful that you have someone you're so connected with and who you've grown with. Congrats on almost three years. [x

  That's why I wan to buy. Renting is useless, unless you're in a really small run down place, rent over here is similar to monthly mortgage payments. So instead of throwing away money I rather use that same money for something I can resell if I need to move.

  I can't say for houses but I seen standard non-fancy houses go for as much as 300k, and that's in areas far from the main part of the city.
  
  Condos are more reasonable, varying from 180k - 250k for some pretty nice places in good locations.

  I see! Our prices aren't too crazily different then. Although, I'm unfamiliar with the condo market here since we're mainly looking at houses with some townhouses thrown into the mix.
  
  Where I am you can get really nice houses in the 180k-250k range in the best areas+ top schools as well. These go off the market at lighting speed though. Although, in most surrounding areas here 300k for a house can get you a lot here in terms of space, property, and renovations. Do you have any examples of a non-fancy standard house in the surrounding areas?

  That's actually pretty cool! Which subject of history are you most interested in?
  
  I personally fell in love heels over head with molecular biology today, thanks to this new incredibly well-done Biotech book I bought. Once you really get into it you get a feeling between the sublime and total exhilaration that people would probably call "a religious experience", but of course molecular biology is something far more profound than any feelings at church. ;) Or, well, at least I get that feeling. I'll have to see if I can eventually work in the field, but for practical reasons I will stick with becoming a food inspector for now.

  We hope to get married in September 2017, so... We need to save some money for it although my fiancé get bit annoyed I spend a lot of money on Mabinogi, LOL. I only get on Mabinogi if I actually have good internet connection, otherwise, I only go on Mabinogi for market. It's weird seeing lot of old players I know doing something different in their life!
