Black Desert Online Hype Train

  So who else is on the Hype Train for the game since it's finally coming to NA/EU =D

  For those of you who don't know, Black Desert Online (BDO) is a game filled with so much to do besides just combat and stat grind. You can go fishing, horse taming, horse breeding, teach horses skills, cooking, climb the tallest buildings in cities, become friends with NPCs to unlock secret items in their shops(sound familiar?), haggle with the market NPC to sell your fish or commerce items for a higher price, and so much more.

  That being said, the combat is really fun once you learn how your skills work; most of the skills you learn don't even need to be hot-keyed' in fact, some skills get a bonus when you do the button input for them instead of just pressing a hotkey.

  that being said, the NA/EU versions are very different from the KR/JP/RU versions in bad and good ways.
  
  Cons
  
  -The game is B2P, meaning buy once, play forever, no subscription (some will debate this isn't a con but I digress.)
  -Content flow should be expected to be behind KR
  -Our version will be released with less classes than the KR version, but they should be expected at a later date.
  
  Pros
  
  -Many Cash Shop items that offer an advantage (increased success rate consumables for gear upgrading) have been removed from the game, including other items that may be considered "pay2win"
  -The NA version gives you access to the entire character creator for no additional fee which is pretty awesome
  -The Admins hosting our version are a big part of the community/forums, they've worked to get our version some nice changes that are greatly appreciated (Some examples: http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/7363-pm-diary-21-party-system-and-energy-changes/ Can find more on their news page )
  
  And to finish off this hype train post I'll end it with my personal favorite part of the game, which is the character creator!

  I will see if its any good before buying, last MMO I bought was GW2 when it launched. Plus I am sure BnS can kill time just as well.

  I was fairly hyped for this seeing the early videos of character creation.
  
  Then I learned it was gender/race locked. I can't tolerate that kind of restrictive shit in an MMO. Not even going to look at the game anymore.

  They apparently have varying skills, so while there might be both a male and female warrior for example, their skills will be different. Don't know how different yet. Also not all classes will be out right away in both genders (from the last time I checked up on the game i think there was male but no female archer).
  
  Regardless of all that it's a mega turn-off to see such an awesome looking game with one of the most advanced character creations I've seen ruin itself with outdated concepts like locks on gender/race.
  
  I'm extremely strict with MMOs though, so maybe it's just me.

  Personally, for me gameplay trumps all. I love playing female characters more than males, cause they look better to me, but as long as the game is fun ill play it.
  My major deciding factor is usually what my friends are playing, funnily enough. Everyone was raving about the obt1 so i wanna join in next beta. It never used to be this way, but now I have more money to spend on games, but less time to play them.
  
  Growing up sucks and is epic all at the same time.

  I haven't kept that up to date with BDO, but if it's like what I've been hearing, my hype for it died long ago. This is from mmorpg.com about BDO:
  
  The original version of the game up to CBT2 was very different,it had planned features that were either cut or completely removed or changed significantly:
  
  Open world housing (changed to instanced)
  Open world bosses (changed to solo summonable bosses)
  Unrestricted auction house system (changed to dev enforced min/max pricing)
  Player to player trade - removed
  PvE group content - changed to 100% solo content
  Naval combat - removed
  Leveling speed increased about 3x-4x
  Introduced vigor points consumption during processing steps in crafting
  
  PvP was significantly changed as well
  
  Open world PvP nerfed - removed low level PvP, imposed HEAVY penalties for killing outside waring guilds, conquest system nerfed. Basically restricted PvP to end-game guild v guild only.

  If this is still true and how the game'll come to NA, then I'm not interested much at all. Might still try it out, but hype for me died down.

  I didn't even know about that. I got pissed at the character restrictions so didn't even look any further. This is just the final nails in the coffin.
