I have this gigantic 2 x 6 Battle Hammer Ego that does nothing but sit in my bag and act like a trash can. I never use it except for the occasional Full Swing and it's honestly stressful wondering how I'll repair it when I do use it. I loathe having to use an un-upgraded Battle Hammer just to prof it for repair, it's terrible. I also don't have much access to NX repair pots so that's also out of the question.
Granted, the only reason I'm asking is because I've invested a lot of time into this thing. Fortunately, I never spent a gold on it, I leveled it through gems I got during metallurgy for Refine. It's lvl 19 in everything except for Int (17) and Dex (18). I'm.. somewhat close to Awakening, but is that skill alone really worth keeping this thing? I'm thinking a fully upgraded and enchanted Battle Hammer would be much better and less stressful. I would also really love my bag space back now that I have two sets of upgraded armor.
tl;dr: Kill useless Ego: Y/N?

If you can't repair it efficiently, and it takes up space, and you never use it, I'd say get rid of it and get something more proficient for you.
The levels aren't too hard to duplicate if you should ever get a new ego.

Depends on what you use as your primary weapons in combat.

Will you even be using an ego after this? If no then I don't see why you should get rid of it too soon.

I don't really know what you mean by that but I'm switching over from dual Maces to dual Iron Maces. I also use a fully upgraded in crit Raven Slayer's Fierce Claymore and a Vales Shield. Then the speedcast Phoenix Fire Wand for Fireballing and necessary Fbolting. I'll probably start using Knucks again soon as well. I have a lot of weapons and use certain ones depending on the situation. I wish Giant's weapons weren't so darned huge bag space wise. :C
EDIT:

Probably not. I've thought about making an Iron Mace ego but I'm not sure. At least then I can easily prof repair ones without making myself look like an idiot doing crappy damage with an unupgraded Battle Hammer.

Kill your ego. If you begin to feel bad about it later, then you made a terrible mistake.

This is often the case for those who don't NX repair.
I wield a Spirit Crossbow because I'm always using normal Crossbows. I love the added mobility.
Spirit weapon awakening is awful. The damage is low and it can only be used once every 24 Mabi hours. Bow and Wand are the best versions of the skill but none are good.

Iron Mace ego if you really must have an ego?

You need more pets I guess?

If you are never going to use that ego, kill it for the space. There's no point having one just for awakening because that skill isn't even that useful in regular combat. You might as well make a new ego that will actually be used/repaired.

My Griffin holds all of my weapons easily. The problem is with me not being able to hold my weapons in MY bag. The Ego can't be put it in a pet's bag, it's sitting in my Inv taking a lot of space. I could be holding my shield or another upgraded and enchanted battle hammer in that space so that I don't have to summon Griffin just to take it out, equip, summon again, unequip and put it back in its bag.
Anywho, that's what I really wanted to know: if awakening was really worth it. I've seen it displayed on a field bear or something but I've never seen anyone actually
use awakening in the heat of combat. If Awakening isn't really worth it then I don't see any reason in keeping this thing. I don't
need an ego, I loathe having to prof another crappy hammer for repair, and the only reason I got this one was because my friends were like "yeeeah get an awesome spirit weapooon" and yeah.
Alrighty, thanks again then. I'm getting rid of this thing.

In honesty, there's no rule stating that it's mandatory to even have an ego weapon. A lot of good players do great without having an ego sitting in their inventory.
Besides, you'll need to have very good lvls in an ego Battle Hammer before it even surpasses an upgraded, enchanted regular Battle Hammer.

Just my two cents but iron mace ego is pretty epic for a giant. Sure, axes are pretty but if you're mostly only using it while in trans and only for full swing, the usefulness is pretty limited. You could have an iron mace ego with 190+ damage in one hand and an upgraded and enchanted one in the other for win wm damage.

If you don't plan to ever use an Ego, I say get a Dagger Ego, just for the free blessings/healing/etc. It only takes up 1x2 spaces, so that shouldn't be a problem unless you're an Alchemist. But if you do plan to actually use the Ego at one point in time, get either an Iron Mace (versatility, though low FS damage) or a Broad Ax (mostly for epeen if you don't raise it high enough to do godly Full Swing damage).

This.
I get annoyed every time I run into a Mage with a spirit wand. Fire wands are understandable...anything else is just outclassed by the upgraded counterpart.

Not this.
Spirit daggers are terrible weapons. The daily blessing is largely useless, the chance that it will bless your equipment or replenish your mana isn't worth the inability to use a decent spirit weapon.
Spirit weapons like that serve as a nice sign that says "I don't know what I'm doing" IMO. I make sure to keep people like that from running anything serious (healers/bards/other "fantasy life" players).
If you don't want to deal with spirit weapons, don't waste your time maintaining a useless one /opinion
