I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but smoking is bad. One should never start in the first place. But people make mistakes. And there comes a time when a person decides to quit, which is good.
But why turn to electronic cigarettes?
Wikipedia says,
An electronic cigarette, e-cigarette or personal vaporizer, is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine or non-nicotine vaporized solution. It is an alternative to smoked tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. In addition to purported nicotine delivery, this vapor also provides a flavor and physical sensation similar to that of inhaled tobacco smoke, while no smoke or combustion is actually involved in its operation.
Now, there's no smoke, but you're basically inhaling flavored nicotine. I haven't done my research, but I've only heard bad things about consuming nicotine, so I assume that this is still bad for you.
But I guess it's a healthier alternative... I guess.
What do you say? E-cigs? Yay or nay?
And what's your opinion on 'em? (Besides being a tool just to rob people of more money.)

Alternatively, you can smoke it without the nicotine!
IT'S CIGARETTES EXCEPT IT DOESN'T KILL YOU. AND MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE FROM STEAMPUNK MOVIE.
AND POSSIBLY NERDY AND SEXY.

Oh wow, I missed the non-nicotine part.

Just kidding. I still think it's a waste of money.

Aren't those for people who want to cut down on smoking?
I think they can lower the amount or something.
It's also for people who don't want to leave the room every time they need to smoke.

Yay.
Nicotine isn't particularly "bad" for you, and you'd be surprised at how many things you consume or feel every day that have very similar effects that nicotine has on you. Its just addictive.
Now, smoking isn't just all about the act of it. Once your body gets used to nicotine it starts to need it. You get cranky or upset when you don't get it.
This is the "healthier" alternative, especially if you want to quit. You can really start kicking it down notches, one step at a time. Because quitting right away without some sort of control plan is never easy.
Also, its flavored. Freaking.

Eh, but it's better. 2nd Hand Smoking is worse, so this helps get rid of that.
Secondhand smoke kills, you know. It's far worse than the fumes you inhale directly. Take diethylene, one of those nasty carcinogens your doctor might have warned you about on your last visit. Firsthand smoke has between 5.3 and 43 nanograms of diethylene, where as, secondhand smoke has 680 and 823 nanograms. Then we've got quinoline, another effective one, secondhand smoke has 18,000 nanograms; 11 times more than the amount you're sucking down firsthand. You can make the choice to blacken your lungs, but don't expect to enforce that on me.

Tomatoes and eggplants contain small amounts of nicotine, btw.
But I can see the healthier alternative idea.

Yay, secondhand smoke! I got used to it since I was a kid due to my dad. Though, I don't like it when I'm late for school, he drives me and drops me off, and I end up smelling like cigarettes.
Personally, If I wanted to smoke, I'd try these. Simply because if it really does 'burn blue', that's kinda cool. Not as if I'm looking after my appearance anyway if I'm smoking...
Eh. How much do these cost compared to normal cigarettes? More, obviously?

FDA Warns of Health Risks Posed by E-Cigarettes
I was under the impression that e-cigs being [s]'healthier'[/s] healthy was, to put it bluntly, an unfounded lie.
EDIT: healthier->healthy, very very difficult to
not be healthier than traditional cigarettes.
