exploration lvling

  hi im new to exploration can anyone explain me what is it used for and whats the best way to lvl it and please explain slowly we just got exploration on europe ver :thumb:

  Well, it's basically just another leveling/repeatable questing system. You level up by using l-rods to find things, sometimes you do quests for exp, sometimes you get exp for giving stuff to NPCs. Best way to raise it is to go to Courcle and to explore for artifacts. It's pretty easy especially if you don't have a mount. Try to aim for at least 15~20 exploration, because it gives you stats and AP like regular levels too.

  Exploration levels is another way to get the AP that everybody seems to run out of. Artifact hunting is, by far, the best way to level it. Shirayuki has already mentioned Cor artifacts, but Pantay Swamp artifacts yield more exploration experience. You should go there for artifact hunting instead of around Cor if you are strong enough to kill the monsters. By strong enough to kill them quickly, I mean no more than two windmills.

  Rafting is better IMO. You can reach 15 exploration in two rafts. You can reach 25 exploration in 22 rafts. Alternatively, you can start field boss hunting at 20 exploration.

  Well, I tried solo rafting for the first time last weekend. Using AR, the most I could get was like 16 stars? Maybe I'm just inexperienced, but level 15 exploration in 2 rafts?! I must learn how!

  If your saying that you can get max stars in the first raft, you probally have to be a mage. ive tried it, and i can ussually one hit with AR. I rarely can get to the maxamount of kills. Second raft dock is impossible to get max, and third is possible, but still.
  
  It gets harder when Warriors are involved.

  mm... i think cor is fastest, if you're talking about l-rod exploration. a lot of people choose to do this method from what i've seen.

  that is the chest map of cor. just go to those spots (the squares, not the ones with the circles in them) and l-rod them.

  just turn them in as is.
  appraising them (uncovering some of the dirt) costs 100g each, and recovering them (uncovering all the dirt) costs 150g, so don't start with 0 gold. :P remember that voight is also a bank
  
  once you get to a high expl level and are tired of doing this, you can go to the weekly dragons and sketch them. any other field bosses you come by you can try to sketch them too, but be careful.

  Arrow Revolver and Ice Spear are both unreliable methods of rafting...but they can earn decent exploration rewards. Thunder is the best option currently available. Crash Shot will eventually replace its usefulness.

  I don't see how you can get 10k exp per raft since even if you get max stars on all 3 legs you'd only get 9540 expl exp. And it's pretty imposable to get max stars on the second leg. (There's only 24 goblins on leg 2.)
  
  I usually get 8520 expl exp per raft so it takes about 10 rafts for expl lvl 20 and would take around 26 rafts for expl lvl 25 minimum if you don't mess up.

  Am I missing something? Maybe I need to read a rafting guide. I did it two more times, but this time, I went all the way to the end. No stopping. First time, I think I got 39 stars, and the second time, I got 31 stars. Both qualify for the max exploration experience reward, 3.1k expl exp. How do you come up with 2 to 3 rafts to get to level 15?

  It would depend on the method you use. Thunder works best and with r1 you can easily get 40+ stars on the first leg, 20+ stars on the second leg and 35+ stars on the third leg.
  
  If you're using range/AR/Magnum you'll get allot less stars since you don't currently have a good AoE attack to kill them fast enough. Most of the rangers I've seen rafting do it in pairs. Even tough you're two, you'll probably still get the same amount of stars since you can't kill all the goblins alone or even half of them. The only way with current skills for a ranger to be remotely as good as a thunder user, is if they had r1 Magnum and 600 base damage, so they can kill the rest with splash damage. (Much lower for exorcists)
  
  So to answer your question. His calculations were based on a mage that can get max amount of stars. Since you only get 3.1k per raft it will take you 7-8 rafts to get to expl lvl 15.
