At least the Desert dragon can drop Raccoon Cub wizard suits...(at a very low drop-rate,of course). And...yeah....Iria desperately needs a boost in content.
FYI,there
are rats in Iria
Cave Rat - Mabinogi World Wiki
Still no cheese though..*cough*
Anyway,Iria is mainly there just for the extra AP anyway and the (few) other skills to learn.

Am I the only one that enjoys Iria? ;-;
That could be my starting out giant and finding Vales and Physis to be fun and awesome as a noob though. I walked the whole pre-G8 continent, from Vales to Cor to Fillia to Qilla and back through Nubes to Vales, without mana tunnels or a mount~! Compared to the other MMO worlds I had seen, I found Iria to be pretty awesome. Uladh can be boring if you ask me.
Although I'll agree that there should be more stuff to actually do and that they should make the stuff you can do now more worth it. Make some more harder versions of Par pl0x. Or rather, more dungeons period.

They need to make a generation where you go back in time, during the ancient times where giants and elves were just begginning their war, and try to prevent it, but it turns out no matter what path you try to stop the leaders, it always ends up in war.
I just think a generation where you can try to prevent the giants and elves from hating eachother but inevitably fail, would be a very nice idea.
Giants have too little
Elves are overpowered.
Humans are inbetween.
All should be able to do that generation, and depending on the race, you can see different sides of the stories. Humans being able to do both at the same time.
I dont know, its a random thought :V

Then when you finish the generation, you can never be allied again and both towns will attack you and all (human)alts on your character.
It'd happen in a real war if you went on both sides and were discovered.

I like that idea too.
And the final boss, is fighting 100 Elves and Giants at the same time, and then fight the leaders, who at the time probally arnt nessecarily Krug and Casteanea.
Then the reward should be to allow that character to rebirth into another race,
only once, and change skills accordingly, and disable skills, etc etc.

I think the reason why Iria has no background music is so you can hear the beeps made by your L-rod when you are searching for artifacts. Music would cover up the softter beeps.

Could have been more interesting, I agree. Like maybe another race that does especially well in Magic XD
-point to Elves-
They do well in magic as well.
Editted::
Iria is not really useless. I find them fun to do, because of Rafting, and Hot Ballooning.
But yeah if there's no Iria in Mabinogi, then there'll be no giants or elves as well. >>

Things I do in Iria: Glowing Gargoyle Maiz (yay for being in a guild full of elves), Glowing statue Karu, rafting (recent addition), hot-air ballooning (not so much), metallurgy, training pets at black tailed mongeese, Training boss kills at Young brown legged fennec foxes, quick travel to Dunbarton and Rath Castle.

They should add a Kraken to the river in Courcle :P

I think Iria can be boring, but also goes under-appreciated. Lots of ways to rank exploration in that continent, Rafting, Courcle Artifacts, Lost Elves. Looking for materials for life skills while earning experience to level, earning gold fairly quickly if you have the right skills, Exploration pages, ego food..I can think of a lot I would do there if I only had the time..
Oh, almost forgot. The easiest Holy Water PTJ. XD

Iria's not really useless once you start ranking Metallurgy/Refining/Metal Conversion, LOL.
Mining in Bangor has never been the same since.

Large areas of relatively little practical use, dungeons nobody cares about, massive field bosses that serve as the only real attraction, new races, race-specific skills (reminiscent of a class system), lengthy lists of worthless fetch quests, etc., etc., etc....
The C2 director apparently thought Mabi needed a good dose of World of Warcraft.

No good, Krakens are from the sea~
Though it'd give a reason to raft with more than a few people...
