30s for a buff is obviously worth it. Some people are just plain annoying like that.
Not really, my Hidden runs are done in 2:30

I've only run Hidden about 15 times on Hard Macha. It was so insanely easy with a group of 6 that I don't understand how any group could have trouble with this. We never used a campfire because it just would have been a waste of time, we were running it ridiculously fast anyway. People were joining and leaving a lot, so its not like we had 1 awesome group or anything.
30 seconds each time for the tiny campfire buff would have just been annoying. I guess as Evie, who can take 2 hits and live on Hard Macha anyway, it seems even more pointless though. A few non-Evies WERE dying per round, but nothing hard to keep up with.

It's a love hate relationship for me... sometimes the golem will completely block my vision, push me out of the way, etc.... but other times it will singlehandedly pin a boss to the wall and/or lock it down with smash attacks.
On the not so good Hidden runs, the golem feels like the one member of the party that's reliable.
Also, just to drag the subject out: @Ruquion and @placeboing - Is the difference of 2:30 and 3:00 really that big of a deal? I guess it's an extra 10 ap every 15 minutes (ignoring load/boat times), but is that worth stressing over/complaining and denying someone else a small break to communicate to his party?

Yeah, Golems in Fiona parties are pretty bad. In theory it looks really cool, in practice...it gets in the way all too much to be useful. It might be useful with non-Fiona parties however, as it could be an alternate method to stun the boss that wouldn't exist otherwise.

PandaSong wrote on 2010-12-06 20:01
I dunno, I love using my Golem when I'm with Tea. :P The bosses tend to get stunned by both Fiona and Golem, then they're not able to get up for more than 5 seconds. Which is always good for firebolt and magic arrow spam. lol, I agree they can get in the way for other players though.
Party Peeves: Again, people who don't use pots when I obviously don't have the stamina or time to stop and heal. Healing costs a lot of stamina and requires a pause to heal. If the boss(es) are after me and not you, you can darn well use a pot. D<
And people who die within 5 seconds of a Hidden run. How hard is it to move out of the way? D:
Oh AND!! People who half die on easy peasy junk mobs and don't pot/expect me to heal. D: I usually save my heals for the boss, because I only carry 8 now (golem takes up my other spot!) and it's the expensive ones. I hate using those for trash mobs.

Most attacks don't seem to be bothered much by the golem, in my experience. However, one time I was trying to spear finish a boss, yet with the golem almost surrounding the boss, half of my spears went into the golem instead.

-Weapon switches, especially for Scythe -> Staff, as there is nothing you can do but (weak) melee pretty much. Still, for Hammer -> Sword, it's annoying, because for some reason, the attacks proceed in a purely linear fashion, instead of tracking an enemy or the direction you're facing, as normal.

One of my pet peeves is that I wish there was like one big server too be honest. I'd love to party with everyone here :D. One of my peeves is The Reaper....yeah, I gotta be honest. I actually enjoy fighting him, but at the same time, he's my worst enemy. I'm a Sword Lann for life, and his speed greatly outmatches mine. The first time I fought him, he destroyed me, although I removed a bar and a half of his health. To top all of this off.....The very first time I did Blood Prince, although I did complete it, The Reaper was the ONLY one too KILL me. I used a Goddess Grace to revive, and killed him off. Even the Prince couldn't kill me, but that blasted Reaper.....we need more bosses like him....WAIT NO! *torn between a tough/fun fight, and getting my bleep handed to me on a platter....

There's no problem with this if you turn the "attack in direction of camera off"
Another thing that annoys me is when someone starts their combo on mobs that I'm about to finish my combo on. That's such a waste of time because now they're going to have nothing to hit ~_~

Oh, yeah that annoys the crap out of me too. This happens a lot with spear Lanns as they are spinning around and inevitably take out the enemy before I'm done with it. That's not too bad on its own, however half of the time the enemy doesn't die from a glancing blow like that, and I have to run after it as it gets propelled away from me.

For me it's not really about the AP loss. It's just that there's nothing at all to do during those 30 seconds since most of the public groups talk like once every 5 runs or so.

Gold spambots
Getting speared in the middle of my boss combo when I've been standing in the same place for several seconds.
IMPATIENT PEOPLE WHO REQUIRE CAPSLOCK TO COMMUNICATE THEIR POINTS
Staff evies that don't heal at all. Not if something goes wrong before the boss fight, not during the boss fight when you've clearly been low on hp for like half a minute and end up getting out of the fray to use a potion, not unless their own hp goes down while they're standing far away from the boss and seem to be doing nothing in particular except an occasional firebolt when the boss gets knocked down.
Spear lanns that start preaching about how spears are better when we had no reason to be talking about it in the first place. Enjoy dying all the time at later bosses.
The fact that I can't play Vindictus on my laptop because the dual core settings seem to do nothing to boost performance.

This again? It sounds to me like you're having trouble with just general players who don't know what their doing, who just so happen to be Evies.

Nah, I wouldn't complain about it, but if they did a campfire every round, I'd just leave and form my own party / join another party. Its simply 30 seconds of nothing, every round, and each round lasts only a few minutes anyway. Kinda like how if I joined one of those parties where 1 person has a terrible computer and it forces everyone to wait an extra 20 seconds per map load, I'd leave that party too. But complaining in-game is pointless, everyone can play how they want to.

Not really, if they don't have any cheap way to heal me. "If you want something done right, you've gotta do it yourself" is my philosophy, so I really don't mind if one or two of my party members runs around like mad and dies 3 times during a fight, but I figure if you're mostly staying out of the fight, at least have the decency to contribute something. It's only the level 2x ones that annoy me, since they're far enough in the game that they should have learned how to play their class. Haven't had a problem with any of the 3x ones yet.
