I thought the bros before hoes expression was only used to describe the fact that you shouldn't give up close friends over a girl or something (or guy if you're a girl), in terms of a romantic relationship. I don't see how it applies here. =/
Otherwise, you shouldn't bother trying to do anything with a "friend" who thinks you're expendable. If they think that way, they're a lost case.

I agree that real friends are never expendable. Through thick and thin you stick together. I am blessed to have really good friendships in my hometown and several worth keeping online. My deep friendships with people at university are still being formed, but they are on its way.
