<-< they're not going by Mabi's storyline o3o
I would blacklist, but that's kind of a petty reason to blacklist people <-<; (that and I don't have room for blacklisting)
it's not that I don't like the people, (dunno them, most of the time) it's usually what they RP about

It's awkward. People should take it to IM.

I love RPing, it adds to the immersion of the game.
At least it does if you're RPing with good RPers. You just gotta hate godmoders and metagamers =\

Only RP I ever did, was a 2-man RP.
Ship is sailing the oceans.
A pirate ship appears on the horizon. The captain says "Men, bring me my red shirt!" The first mate fetches the shirt and the captain successfully leads an attack on the pirates that sinks their ship.
One of the sailors asked the captain "Why do you wear a red shirt in battle?" The captain responded "because if I am wounded, you will not see blood and will continue to fight as if nothing is amiss." The crew was astounded at the bravery of the captain.
Later, twenty pirate ships appeared on the horizon. The men looked to the captain, waiting for the request that brought everyone so much strength. The captain looked at the horizon and said, "Men, bring me my brown pants!"

You sir, need to play some D&D. Role-playing is the play of acting as characters in a fictional story, where you act like it's not you playing that character, but you are the character himself/herself, acting like him/her, talking like him/her, etc. It all depends on what kind of emotions, feelings, dialect, and accent you pick to distinguish yourself from just playing the game to being your character. owo

Or it could also be a outlet for people's anime fetishes.
For example I oversaw/heard two people RP-ing Death Note as though Kira and L were lovers... I can never look at that anime the same way again...

I role play a character that is controlled by the all mighty player, who controls his every word, his every action. This player chooses to ignore the character's personality, hopes and dreams, and overrides it with his own. And my character's player is freaked out by characters that are not also possessed by an all mighty player of their own. My character's player usual response, when faced with abominations without an all mighty payer is to run away-- run far far away. (Though in another game a long time ago, it would have been to shoot them until dead. Yay for pvp always on.)
Notable quote: Verily thine Newb arse hath been roxxered.

I don't role-play (except when playing on my Borzoi, "woof!") but I've seen several players that do. The creepy ones talk like the character and usually have creepy roleplaying friends.
I recall a player named Lyndis on Alexina. She dresses up as Lyn from Fire Emblem. Neat stuff.

People who RP out in the open where tons of people are listening are partially doing it to get a response from other players.
Some people would call that trolling.
