The contents below might offend homosexuals, but it will also widen your view so it should do more good than harm.
All of my life I opposed homosexuality, but the anti-homophobic society I live in has kept me inside the "closet" of my homophobic opinions (lol the irony).
During that time, I opened myself to opinions of homosexuality and learned much from it. I learned to tolerate homosexuality and disprove of the homophobic notion that homosexuals will come out of the bush and rape you. Homosexuals are just like normal people except with different sexual orientation.
Throughout my highschool life, I formulated an opinion that homosexuality is just one of many sexual fantasies people have. It should be listed under the same category as anal, bdsm, maid, petite, etc. It is not as bad as criminal activities, but it is something that should be celebrated upon (it's not like you see a club in school about bdsm and anal rape). So I wondered to myself why there is a Gay-Straight Alliance club. At first I thought it was to make sure homosexuals have equal protection under the law and make sure they are tolerated.
But I eventually figured out that it wants to make sure homosexuality is a common norm and really hates homophobia. Then, I was really afraid of speaking out against homosexuality, thinking that it would make my school life much harder. By then, it was pretty clear that homosexuals were doing the exact thing that they were preventing. I had my opinions, but it was pretty obvious that if i spoke my words, the club would probably get me into detention even if i didn't do anything wrong.
---
How fair is that? I see a scientific and social fundamental flaws in homosexuality yet I am to be silenced because my view is "extremist and radical". It's not like my opposition is based on religion or "morals", it is based on the damage it could deal on humanity. But no my view is radical and stupid because it doesn't agree with homosexuality even though it has a clear logical flow.
If homosexuality is a common norm, then when straight people break up and the couples could become homosexuals blaming straight relationship rather than the fact that they were not meant for each other. That farther converts more people into homosexuality. Once there are so many more homosexuals, there will be very few people actually reproducing (especially since there are abortions and financial problem with raising a child) and the human population will go down, thus producing less people with ideas that can improve humanity.
So my solution to that problem is making sure people don't care much about homosexuality (thus not harassed) and that the homosexuals treat their sexuality just like modding in mabinogi. They are free to do so, but they should do it without letting others know.
---
There I said it and just like how gay people are proud of their views, I am proud of my view. I don't believe either side of the argument should be ridiculed and discriminated.
The problem with debating about homosexuality is that people isolate themselves with their views. Homosexuals think that anyone who opposes homosexuality is a homophobic, but that is not true, there are people like me who are moderates, but oppose homosexuality.
Also, even if I want to my view to seem less offending to homosexuals, it is impossible. There is a barrier that prevents me from learning how homosexuals are like without giving up my view.
Okay so tell me about how you feel about homosexuality or try to explain what it is like. Remember I won't give into agreeing with homosexuality, but I am still willing to listen.

How could being homosexual damage humanity?

I explained on the next paragraph.
Increased homosexuality would lead to less population and by proportion, less ideas created to improve humanity.

More homosexuals=Less order in the way Nature designed us which also leads to lesser populations and such.
Personally, I'm not that fond of homosexuality, but I don't want to start a large-scale debate on why I don't like it so I'll leave it at that.

You are bold.
However, I don't agree with you at all.
Same-sex coupling occurs in nature? Explain that to me.
Homosexuality isn't a disorder, not is it a strange sexual deviation.
I'll put it simply for you: it's an attraction to members of your same sex.
If homosexuality is a preference, then so is heterosexuality.
There is nothing you have to agree on, really. I feel like you are more disgusted with it rather.
Homosexuality does not destroy society for not even over half the population in the world is gay. Please don't say absurd statements like that. They say that only 10% of the world is gay, maybe even less.
I don't understand why you're so against it anyway. It doesn't affect you. And please let's not bring up the same old cliche counter-arguments of pedophilia, incest, murder and rape.
Anal rape is not a valid comparison to homosexuality.

Sorry the font kinda screwed me up....

You seem to think that straight people will just turn into homosexuals, but if your straight, you dont love people of the same gender, you love people of the opposite gender, so if you relationship is actually based on love, you wouldnt "turn" homosexual.....Over population is a problem now, so letting people come to terms with who they are is not going to make the human race go extinct. And plus, lesbians can have children, so even that isnt a problem.

How do you feel about racism, abc? o_o
It's comparable to homophobia.

Homosexuality =/= sexual preferences, nor does heterosexuality =/= some weird kinky business.
Honestly, your logic seems understandable, but at the same time, you fail to acknowledge the real emotional bond between two homosexuals.
It's not S&M. It's love.

If homosexuality is a preference, then so is heterosexuality.
I feel this is a quaint yet logically incorrect statement. Something about false equivalence? One works in Darwin's theory of evolution, the other (afaik) doesn't.

In people. Maybe not so much animals.
We all have our preferences... skinny, muscular, tall, same height, physical characteristics, etc., etc.
And then there's the type of sex/gender we're just attracted to: male, female, even trannies sometimes. lmao
We're all different human beings with different preferences.

It's not like we had much of a choice in picking which gender we like. Were born with it, just like your born liking the opposite sex.

I think it's been proven it's a hormone thing inside your brain.
Well, as proven as it can get in the scientific sense anyways...

When the OP said, that he had to "learn to tolerate homosexuality," I immediately wondered why people should have to learn to "tolerate" such a simple and private issue as who that other person is attracted to. Really, it isn't much of your concern who I sleep with. It doesn't affect you immediately and it doesn't affect society.
There's tons of kids out there with no parents. I could certainly adopt one and bring happiness to that little boy or girl's life.
Why do you care if I can't have children?
Should we eradicate all sterile couples as well? Or post-menopausal women? Again, all of these arguments and counter-arguments have been used over and over before in history. They're cliche.
It all comes down to disgust. It bothers you to see two men kissing or the mere thought of two men having sex. And you know what, it bothers me to think about old people having sex, but I let them. Why? Because even though they can't have kids and they're such "abomination to human progress and development," it's not my life, ABC.
Worry about your own life first. Homosexuality doesn't affect you or the world at all.
