Someone please enlighten me on which order I should rank ranged skills to maximize damage/efficiency. I've barely started.
Currently my +Dex and range skills:
R1 Range, R5 AR, R2 Refine (a few more successes to R1), rF-E everything else, including magnum.
I'm planning to cap AR at rank 2 for awhile, until I have 60 AP to spare. DEX: 148
I get around 20-25 AP per week, being a slow leveler.
I would like to rank Crash Shot (G12), but the AP is pretty costly, so at most to rank 5 unless rank 1 is much better. I've thought of G12 Support Shot as a potential DEX source. However, I'm unsure how to proceed right now... help please!?
Thanks in advance...

You should work on that lv 20-25 o_o Find people to SM with
But do range 1 then AR 1

Already have range 1, but AR I think should be left at rank 2...
It's not lv20-25, it's 75AP over 3 weeks, which comes from about 5X/15 + age AP.

I would say go ahead and finish up refine. Then go ahead and cap AR, and after AR work on Mag.

It solely depends on what you plan to do. As for me this what I'll be doing.
Currently I have r3 AR, r2 Refine (fails complete) and r5 smash and Mag. Right now I'm about to do g11+12 (when it comes out) so smash and Mag would help better at r1 then r1 AR.
So I'll get r1 Smash and Mag, do g11, get the brionax, finish up refine with the brionax then do g12 and when's that finish I can go over the 1k total and continue on with r1 AR. After that I'll start a 7 week project on getting Crash shot to r1.
Now a little backstory on Crash shot. Its usefulness doesn't become useful until r5+ and even there it will still suck till r1. You may want to do some weaving, tailoring and whatnot to get some extra dex for little ap but there time consuming. Support shot is a nice +18 dex.
Soley depends on what you want to do with range.

If your fails are complete why waste Brionic on refining? After fails it's easy. o-o

woosh.
And I'd cap AR then go for Magnum. Rush Refine succeeds before anything though. Refine is useless unless you get the 10 dex at the end :p

You could always do metallurgy along with it, so you get +dex from both ._.

If he ranked it along with Refine, he probably would've finish by now :p

But if he didn't... :P
Either way we both agree to cap AR and then do mag. :V

I would max AR personally. That last rank makes a hell of a difference. When you get that last rank, the monster has no chance anymore to retaliate.

60 AP is no small price to pay regardless.

Unfortunately I see crash shot replacing magnum in a lot of situations...
Plus it gives not much DEX O_O

If you think 60 ap isn't a small task, Crash shot is like almost 500.

Brionax will save me money for refine which I want to save. Personally I'm getting ar rank 1 then doing crash shot just so I have the awesome r1 ar which awesome. Crash shot outdamages Magnum on the initail target when theres 5 monsters caught in the splash. Does something rediculous as like 540% - 900% damage and also ignores protection when calculating crits which Magnum can't do. So yes, it will overpower Human mag in some situations.

The only reason to rank Arrow Revolver is for the decreased load time and the improved aim speed. Rank 1 adds 20% to your minimum accuracy and cuts the load time to 1 second, making it the most reliable method of cleaning up after Crash Shot.
