Quote from Kazuni;192045:
The problem with that is that Japan never actually admitted to the massacre of China.
I mean, let's say your grandfather murdered your friend's grandfather. Wouldn't you feel bad about it?
Is that not similar to the situation at hand with Taiwan?

Reading so many posts is painful to the eyes x.x
Anyhow what i think about this? I think its a load of crap. ALL i have to say is stop bragging and get over IT. Whatever happened in the past >>> genocides, massacres....etc... happened in the past. There's no use holding a grudge over it for millions and millions of years after. Look at arabs, their hatred for **** that happened before is just pathetic really. I mean get over it and just live life. Why does it matter? Why not just focus on what REALLY matters like being nice to your friends, neighbours..etc.... of course humans are very vain creatures....so they'll always be jelous and always hold a "grudge" over something trivial. The world will keep going round and round and in the end.... you're all just gonna die. ITS REALITY AND THATS WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN. So might as well try and do something useful in your life, cause when you're dead...it doesnt matter...
That is all,

If I kill your family, you shouldn't care, right? This all didn't happen too long ago.

I remember reading somewhere that Japanese History books don't contain anything relating to the Rape of Nanjing...how much does this enrage the Chinese?

I absolutely hate when kids at my school are like "HERROH" or like "YELLOW POWER" or "I'm asian!" or "Because s/he's asian" or "That was ninja." and extremely stereotypical stuff simply because of their race and stuff like that. It pisses me off and embarrasses me as well.
Yes. They use ninja as an adjective. ><

If you kill my family (not that i have one atm...but thats personal hahaha) you're only showing how pathetic and volatile of a human you can be. So go ahead do that, but you're only showing me how corrupt you are in the end.

Then I will assume that your lack of human attachment is the reason for your words.

So in return i'll assume that your words and grudges are a display of your character and personality.

Of course they define who I am. I believe in supporting the people I feel close to and the causes that I believe in, and I give no quarter to those that would detract from them. I would hazard to say most people feel the same way as well. It's easy to say that the human race is corrupt and hateful from an objective viewpoint, but those are all caused because we care about something. If you are really that detached from human and familial attachments, I can understand why you don't understand this.

Good point. But just remember that this is where most irrational human behaviour that is in fact Corrupt, vain, egotistic, and destructive comes from. This "support" leads to impulsive actions. Picture this >>>> you walk into your house and see your family dead and the man who killed them sitting in a chair. What would you do?
A) Kill him?
or
B) call the police so he would be arrested?
Im betting on you choosing A since your emotions would take over and completely block out your rationality. In the end.... sure you took your anger out on the person who did this to your family, but did it solve anything? no. Is it gonna bring redemption to your family? no. Is it gonna bring them back to life? no. Is it gonna incriminate you morally and make you a killer? YES. Would you be held accountable in the eyes of "society"? no. Would you be held accountable on a moral basis? yes.

Restrain him and call the police.

Errrm. Well I kinda half agree with Dragonite, but that killer/family thing doesn't really apply here because it was the Chinese army and government that did whatever to Taiwan, not the citizens. Basically what I was saying before was, why should a person from mainland china apologize for their government? He/she has done nothing wrong to you and has no say in whatever the army/government does, so it's completely unrelated to them. They shouldn't be responsible just because they came from/was born in/grew up in that country.
This is the same situation as China/Japan. It was the Japanese army and government that massacred the Chinese, not the citizens. There wasn't even democracy before, so you can't say it was cause half the people voted for this to happen. Yet I know a lot of people from mainland China (mostly adults) who hate Japanese people and Japanese culture because of that.
Another example that may apply is the discrimination against Middle-East people when 9/11 happened. Just because a terrorist group from one country decided to attack the US doesn't mean every Middle-East person automatically is a terrorist. Yet there were people who discriminated against them anyway because of what that terrorist group did.
What I'm trying to say in this thread is that it is not the fault of the children. Citizens are kind of like the children of a government too...in a way. If my grandpa killed your grandma, it wasn't MY fault. If my government killed your government, it's not MY fault either. I could've been against it, but I can't control anything.

Well then thats your judgment and your opinion on what you would choose to do. But not everyone would react the same way.

So what was your point in asking this question?
