I haven't even reached the limit on tokens and the only person I know who has is ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Maybe change it so you can still go to dungeons but without tokens you get no ap/bp/exp/gold/drops/mining.
Personally one thing I liked about Vindictus was that it seemed like it was going to be a game that does not reward whoever can do mindless repetitive easy farming the longest, so I don't really have an opposition in changing to the intended token reset system. I'd probably not play anymore actually if it moved back to a system that did reward repetitive easy farming to keep up with everyone.

What would be the point of running the dungeon if you don't get any rewards?

Helping people out, for fun?
Since right now, you can't just run a dungeon for the hell of it. Always need to save up for farming and daily missions.

just design 50% of vindictus to be something else besides dungeoning
like Dungeon and Fighter

60 tokens / 4 days
15 tokens / day
7 runs / day
3 boats means 2 runs are spent on dailies.
8 boats would mean you spend 7 runs on dailies.
Lol wut?

Here's my thoughts on the thing...
5 times a day just wouldn't work. It's too much.
Once a day would be more than enough, but still probably too much. I'd say once every other day (almost). Monday, Thursday, Saturday.
Most people won't play a ton Mon-Thu probably, so a reset Mon & Thu would be more than enough. And then people would play all Friday evening and then get their tokens reset on Saturday. Then they'd play all day Saturday, some of Sunday and then tokens would reset again on Monday.
People wouldn't be able to play as much as they want, but it'd probably be a lot better than it is now.
And I think if they reduced the cost of plat tokens from $0.50 to say $0.10 or $0.05 then people would be a hell of a lot more willing to buy them. If you did about 5-10 extra missions a day it'd be $0.50 cents a day or about $15 a month, which would be reasonable. With tokens being able to already play 7 games a day, 5-10 extra games would be a decent amount more and not all that expensive to pay for.
So, I think a system like that would work and would end up being more successful for them in the long run since nobody is going to pay 50 cents per token. 5 cents or 10 cents... I could see that happening. I'd probably do it myself.

I wouldn't even pay one cent for tokens, that's borderline pay to play. Lucky for me my play style will probably hardly use any tokens. Since last weekend I did 2 runs... both were decisive battle daily bonus which cost no tokens.

If you check the Help page in Vindictus about the tokens, it'll tell you that you can turn in dedication seals once a day. Which means in a week you can get up to 70 more tokens, or 90 tokens for Monday-Thursday, and 80 tokens for Friday - Saturday. Another thing people aren't seeing is that right now, Vindictus is only starting so we don't have the other integral part of the gameplay: PvP.
When PvP comes out, you'll have something to do in the downtime, which would be fight other players, and on top of that you get Enjoyment Seals for doing so, which allows you to do the other portion of the game, PvE, more often. While people who don't like PvP, like myself, will be shafted a little bit, there will definitely be other things to do. Let's not forget the fact that you could always run a dungeon without killing the token-stealing bosses to farm materials, unless of course you need a boss drop.
And as said before, this is the type of game that encourages multiple character development rather than a single main character, unless of course you're willing to shell out money.

Either that or playing very casual, which is what I would like to do. Only issue is progressing past the storyline to access other boats and get good exp/AP requires non-casual grinding/farming which is currently turning me off from the game. Once I get past that BS I'll be quite pleased with it.

Most of the BP required can be acquired in 2-3 runs of the same battle, so it's not all that hardcore really. Unless of course you're trying to get through the whole chapter in one sitting on 50 tokens >_> that would be a different story D:

BP isn't an issue it's the items needed to advance the quests, they're not always dropping for me and it's getting annoying. All I really want to do in this game is log on once in a while and do some dungeons, but I can't get to all of them because of this retarded item farming which is not something I want to do. Vindictus can be a very casual-friendly game but only once you finish the quests. At the moment I stopped playing until evie gets here so I can try her out, then decide if I should waste my time on the quests for my evie or fionna.

I thought there were only 6 boats, one of which is the fishing boat.

The more the game updates, the more boats there will be. If you want to maximize your AP, you'd have to go through content slower and slower.

Kueh wrote on 2010-10-21 15:57
Are they really gonna add two more boats?
I assumed that they would have simply added new battles to existing boats when they made new content.
