When Evie comes out, theres gonna be noone to red tyrant with :T_T:
Noone will always be there for you. Noone just doesn't like to play red tyrant with too many noobs so he's waiting till evie comes out.
[Edit-What does that have to do with tokens anyway?]
Don't the plat tokens give like 50% exp bonus for the mission? O_O
I too like the token system.. as I'm more of a casual player too..
But I think they do need to reset them more often because there is now barely any people online.. so hard for me to find a boat I want on boat 2&3.. and my internet is not good for hosting my own room either..
This game has much potential. But still a long way from meeting that potential..
Hopefully next Wednesday when evie comes out it'll be more lively..
It's the fact that people like to push too much for what is a casual game. Only the people who want to grind AP 24/7 for no reason or hit the cap in two days care about this token system.
I will apologize in advanced if the post comes up like a wall of text. Not sure how to format in such a simple forum without any formatting tools at my disposal.
I was one of the 12 selected, and unlike Davy, I'll try and give a bit more information as to what happened during the meeting (hope I don't get in trouble for this). To many of the posters thinking that the meeting was unproductive and unconstructive, you are mistaken. Davy is right in saying we had about 3-4 poster boards filled with sticky notes containing ideas about how to remedy the situation.
But before I start off with how the meeting went and what was discussed, Nexon is first and foremost a company and therefore they also have to pay the bills and pay their employees, so the topic of profit is always going to come up. To those who are saying that Nexon is only trying to make a buck, what you are saying holds some truth. Nexon does have to make some money, but it does not have to come solely from platinum tokens. It can come from other means.
A few of the ideas to help remedy the token issue I can remember at 5:45 in the morning include, but not limited to the following:
-Refresh once a day with roll overs and an increased pool of tokens for Friday - Sunday
-Mon, Wed, Fri token refresh system
-General roll over system
-Ability to gain tokens while offline (similar to a rest system)
-Unlimited tokens for a fee
-A mentoring system in which tokens would be a reward for higher levels helping out lower level members
-Tokens as a drop i.e. you pick up tokens like you do with leather and cloth
-Reduced token costs for guild members running missions together i.e. having one guild member pay
-Platinum tokens having increased bonuses to make them worthwhile i.e. give more AP, increased drop rate, increase exp rate, etc (Personally did not like this idea)
-Reduce platinum costs
-75 tokens a day
-Experimentation with the token system over time i.e. Nexon will actively experiment with the token system before they find the right spot
-Use of polls in order to find a general consensus of the community about the token system and how it should be handled (Yes I know the forum already has the majority of the ideas out there but the forum is plagued with few good ideas filled with more trash)
-Nexon hopes to have more of these panel discussions in the future
-NX for gold type system (Similar to the MTS system found in MapleStory)
There were other issues talked about at the meeting including topics such as content, fixes, and player to publisher / developer transparency. There were criticisms from both sides of the fence for both for and against a token system.
I know not everyone will be happy about I wrote here, and I know I will not nor can not please everyone here. What I will say is that they will try to implement whatever changes Nexon and devCats (the developers of the game to those that did not know) by Wednesday, but nothing is promised.
On a side note: I was able to talk with one of the producers of Vindictus / Mabinogi Heroes (Don't even want to try and butcher his name). He came up to me and told me he liked a lot of my suggestions and he'll bring a bunch of those suggestions back to Korea. He also did say that it was painful to see his work criticized so heavily but that it was for the best and that it's a step forward to making the best game he wants.

It's the fact that people like to push too much for what is a casual game. Only the people who want to grind AP 24/7 for no reason or hit the cap in two days care about this token system. There isn't nearly enough content to warrant tokens resetting more often, maybe in the future if there are more boats and longer raids then a revision can be talked about.
As it is now, you can easily solo for the XP, farm without spending any tokens, and do the Today quests for the AP. Seven trips a day are more than enough for all that, the only reason anyone would want to go above that is to grind to the cap or max out all their skills, both of which are entirely unnecessary. There are far more important issues not even being talked about, such as a proper storage or trading system.
Platinum Tokens: Definitely need a price change. 100-200 nx each package would of course be ideal. More boosts would be nice.
