If they do, its probably a plot so people will feel more rushed so in turn they buy more rebirth cards so they can get skills easier. IMO
Rebirth cards are not the answer to everything.
They cannot really depend on them as the only money-making option.
Even with more rebirth cards, if people do not have the time to play, the AP gain will still be slow. People will figure out.
Yes there will be stupid people but they will always figure out eventually once their pockets start to get burnt and they don't get satisfaction from the game.
It doesn't mean that you can PAY a lot and you get back expected or more returns in Mabinogi. Look at gachapon.
Also, lets compare free RB with paid RB, two types here, three-weeks-twice and weekly.
Free RB is once every 3 weeks.
Three-weeks-twice RB is twice every two weeks.
Weekly rebirth is once a week.
Assuming that one can get to level 80 in one rebirth and explore 20, that's about 98 AP.
Deviation of 2 AP per week if the character is age 10 and rebirths weekly.
We assume the one month has 4 weeks. In three months...
Free RB-er gets 392 + 8 (age up AP) = 400 AP
Three-weeks-twice RB-er gets 784 + 16 (age up AP) = 800 AP
Weekly-RB-er gets 1176 + 48 AP (age up AP if age 10) = 1224 AP
However, when time is limited, it's most likely that within a period of one week, the weekly RB can't reach level 80 and 20 explore fast enough, unless he cheats the system through rafting glitch and dual exp potion use. Three-weeks-twice is stressful too but there is a "buffer week".
On top of that the RB option is more economical in the long term. As you can see the ratio up there is 1:2:3. In three months, three-weeks-twice RB-er only pays for 4 cards. In contrast, weekly-RB-er pays for 12 cards. Seriously, why pay
three times more for a
miserable +0.5 of progress compared to three-weeks-twice system? You are over-paying for that little progress.
It just makes it tougher for high-leveled players to get more exp just by PAYING and PAYING. It limits their growth in the game. Essentially it's comparable to a subscription system, which players will pay anyway even if there will be a new update or not. So delays don't really affect this very much.
My point is that Mabinogi is by design not a game which you can rush through. It's philosophy has always been about balance. I just cannot see how they can rush G13 out by this year without suffering any major losses in the long-term.
If they could give players more time to enjoy a generation or they speed up AP gain somehow, it might be a different story. But speeding up AP gain will meddle the system so I don't support it.
