But it ain't my business if they didn't want to be christian. To me hell is just Earth without death.
Actually, I think of it this way. Earth is the center of all religion and it has many arrows pointing to many directions.
As a christian, i know which arrow to follow and i know that arrows lead to heaven. All the other arrows are hell to me. But for another person, one of the arrows (that I think is hell) may be what they believe as heaven and the arrow that points to what I believe as heaven may be hell for him/her.
I guess it really depends on the person's spirit. Just like how I joined the stock market club and think art club is boring. Some other person might think that art club is fun and stock market club is boring.

I have no problem with that belief, that there can be multiple different ways to reach the same end goal-- "heaven," "salvation," whatever you may call it.
There can be salvation without Jesus. Maybe not for you, but definitely for another person.
I just wish more people believed in this open-minded, less restricted idea of salvation.

Except what is salvation? :\
Is it living forever? Is it never arguing with your loved ones? What is it?

I don't know anymore. haha
I was referring to the Christian side of going to Heaven.
But my salvation is just being happy, being a good person, all that sort of stuff.

It is whatever you believe it is.
Christians' salvation is living with the trinity.
Buddhists' salvation is reincarnating into a better being.

Except would you still be considered human? Humans argue, and such. They have different views. If everyone's in heaven, there's bound to be disagreement, and so, just like another earth.
That kinda infinite life would be... ah...

What do you expect to see in heaven?

No idea. I'm not religious.
But yes, that's why I don't believe in a perfect Heaven or even a perfect world offered to us by a God. Any God actually.
Nothing is perfect.

Personally, I'd love the idea of heaven, but I can't see how it's possible without changing some aspects of each person to make them get along. And after that.. are we still ourselves?
It seemed a bit too good to be true, after all
this to have a nice place to go to.

When I think about heaven, I think about asymptotes.
The line comes sooo close to a value, but never actually touches it. For example, in a horizontal asymptote, x can go to infinity, but it will never touch that y=3.
But heaven is when you finally touch that y=3. You have done the impossible. Thus, I think heaven is enjoying the sense of accomplishment after spending such a long time trying to accomplish the impossible.
/nerdy post.

So how long does heaven last? o_o
How long can you feel accomplished, anyway?

God doesn't want that for anyone.
The main problem I have with everyone is that they are putting words into God's mouth.
Anyway religion is a touchy subject. It's either you believe or you do not believe.

It's just silly to me when someone says to another person at a funeral, "This is what God wanted for her." Or, "It was her time to go."
I've always struggled with this thought. I believe in God but I always hated how the Christian mentality seemed like "win-win" to me: they survived, it's a miracle. They died, it's God's plan. I can't really explain how I feel about it, but I dislike this thinking so much.
My dog's dying of congestive heart failure caused by heartworm (I suspected my dog had heartworm years before, spoke to my parents about it and they did nothing until recently when he began bloating), and now the vets say he'll die within the month and the best thing to do is euthanize him. I've had my dog for 7 years and half of his life shouldn't be over yet (his breed can live 15 years or longer) and I refuse to stop praying about it. I've mustered all the faith I could to pray for my dog and I hope to God he gets better, but if he passes I'll be so disappointed. I refuse to believe it's "God's will" for my dog to die such a painful death or as young he is :x

Don't mind me sharing my perspective on this, but this is why I think people feel it is wrong.
Because everyone expects life to flow smoothly. When something falls out of the puzzle piece, they think it is odd.
In truth, and in life, when there is a rise, there must be a fall.
It's the law of balance that nobody really understands. I don't blame God for it.

No need to bother trying to rationalize the actions of God when Christians tell us that you can't understand what He's doing.

I think this thread should be locked.. Its just that this whole religion stuff is a very touchy subject.. I can tell something bad is likely to be said.
