Wow, you actually lend out -CP equipment? I'd be extremely reluctant to lend out any of my -CP equipment considering how much time it took to farm most of them. I'd rather not buy a replacement for my -CP equipment if I can avoid doing so altogether.
I don't get to many requests for giving out gold to people since I spend a lot of time spamming shadow missions, but when someone does ask me, I usually turn them down unless they only want a small amount of gold.
Used to lend out -CP equipment to anyone who seems to need it. Now with exception of some people (people who I know for a really long time and still play with belong to this category) I don't lend them out anymore. Blame it on the idiots.
I will continue to keep a firm hold on my -200CP sets. Those cost too much to make.
I have 5 abysmal pots because I'm crazy about enchanting but that doesn't mean people can go borrowing them all the time. It's tough to keep track of your items, so I prefer to not lend anyone and also only lend for a few days and get them back as soon as possible. No reason why they should be keeping your stuff at their own leisure. If they don't need to use it urgently, they might as well not borrow it.

It's not that I wouldn't lend Gold (because I would)
It's just that I have none, only have about 1k, which I need for repairs... I don't even have enough for my 5th upgrade or the rest of my skill books
(yes, I'm a newbie.)
I also try not to ask for money... in fact I only have 2 friends.. and I try not to ask them for anything, even favors..

I lend large sums to my bro and my gf. Everyone else can shove it unless they get on my good side which could take months.

If the asker is a friend? "Yeah sure have 50k!"
A close friends? "Oh yeah you're asking for 50k? Here have 100k!"
Closest? "Psh borrow my Raccoon Cub for a week then!"
Just met? "Uhh what for...?"
Yeah really depends in my case. I'm a real easy giver. My friends ask me for gold and Items a lot of the time. A couple of times I was asked for Holy Water, I made myself work up more than 10 stacks of holy water just to give out when they needed it.
As for gold? Basicly I give it out whenever I can, I see it as good karma in my case. If I have the money and I see a begger? Yeah sure I'll spare him 1k or so. but asking for more than 50k? Maybe~ Like I said it mostly depends.

I can give out an occasional 5k-10k to noobs, done it before. If a guildie asks for some money, depending on how much, I would not mind giving them money since I know they'll pay me back. Though, most of the time i'm poor, so I really don't have money to give out.

I don't lend money at all. I worked hard (lol) for my money and am not just going to give it away because someone's too lazy to step into a dungeon. If you don't want to dungeon then farm holy water! Is digging up potatoes or harvesting corn really so hard?!
I've had a lot of people adding me lately, waiting a couple of days and then asking me to buy them stuff. Then when I try to explain that I spent all my money on conceptual valencia repairs and metal dyes, they get angry. SORRY if I spent MY gold to further MY OWN character.
And they all say the same thing, "KYAAAA~! I'm so embarrassed! I don't usually beg for money but could you lend me XXX k?" Not a single one ever included a reassurance of paying me back in their PMs/notes either.

A new-looking character didn't really ask me for money...
They asked what was a good way to earn ~10k for a weapon.
I directed them towards Rabbie and told them to pick up all the fomor scrolls they get.
Then I ran it through with him, since I know that I wouldn't have wanted to run Rabbie all by myself. xD
(still don't like doing it)

I can't do Rabbie Normal anymore... It's so damned slow... But I do what you do. I will NOT lend gold under any circumstance, but helping someone run a dungeon to make gold is acceptable =3

You people have quite obviously never played Runescape. It casts a light on humanity, rendering its shadow to those who look.
I don't lend money. Not even in real life.

Only to people I regularly talk too, which would be most of my buddy list, since I only keep around 14 very good friends on there and no one else. I normally have no money though cause I blow it all on Fashinogi. =(

If they have a real reason.
I usually ask why they can't get it themselves. If they say why and it's a lazy reason, I say no because they could get it themselves and they most likely won't pay it back.

Hah, I never give out money, only because I never really have money.
Only time I would give out money is when I got something good from gacha and made a ton of money, but anytime else, No.
Make your own money.
