I have maybe a few good friends that I give money to without ever expecting it back, mostly because I am under the assumption that I still owe them for a multitude of small favors done to me in the past.
Other than that, I'm kind of stingy. I either pretend to be afk, or tell 'em to go run dungeons.

Haha, don't worry, I'm stingier than you. I would gladly lend out money to close friends but actually giving money? Errr....maybe for birthdays...

Part with only that which you expect not to get back.
I can't remember where that's from but I always remember it when someone asks for something.
I rarely give anything away to randoms because I can't expect them to give it back because they won't. Guild members, people on friends list? Possibly. Depends on what they're asking for. I've lent 30k to help make a guildie's farm, 40k for an adv feath to revive a friend, etc. etc. Those are all fine and they've all been repaid thankfully. But 70k for a non-expiring page that can be easily gotten for free by walking around in Rano? Absolutely not. Don't feel guilty about such a silly waste of gold just because of laziness.
89% of the time it usually goes like this
Them: can I-
Me: nope

I've lent out 2 million gold and gotten it back. The person was willing to give me something to hold, just in case.

Anytime any random person asks me for money, I ask them if they have something to sell to me that I might want. Or I might advise them on how to make money. Money giving is rare, if ever.
Hell, I lent out 300k to a friend of a friend, and I still haven't seen it back yet. And yet he still has the nerve to ask for me to buy 2 black dyes for him.

I dont lend money. Anyone asks; i tell them to go to Rabbie Arena and wait for me there, in the end i never go to prove that 'That time you spent waiting could have made you several thousand gold+'
I just mostly buy nx, so my outfits rarely change..

I only lend money when I know they will pay me back....and for that when I am short like a mil or something, my friends will lend me money because they know I hate being in "debt" to someone.

I haven't seen my friend since I lent him money. I guess I learned my lesson.

If I am financially stable and have no need for repairs/more alchemy crystals and just plain dandy, I don't mind dropping 20~30k on some people who ask. I don't really expect it back, but when its paid back, I'll smile.

Never.
If they have the time to ask for money they have the time to get it themselves
And that I don't have much money to give at all :what:

For some reason you made me want to ask you for 10k, then give 30k back.
