What. That thing has Access to Both Sword and Dragon Dance!? How can it not be called overpowered?
Edit : Feraligatr learns Earthquake anyway, so Typhlosion knowing Thunder Punch doesn't give it an upperhand.
Wait....since when does Ground > Fire?

Not only is Earthquake super effective against Typhlosion, but I'm more concerned about it's super effectiveness against Electric Type Pokemon. Thunder Punch is a move Typhlosion users use against Water Type Pokemon that are sent out against Typhlosion while Earthquake is for the Electric Type Pokemon against Feraligatr.

Ah, Typhlosion has a pretty good physical movepool too it seems. Thunderpunch, Earthquake, Flare Blitz. His base Attack is lower than his Special though. But it's viable.

Most of the time I don't even care about Thunder Punch since I can get much more power from Special Attacks. Blast Burn + 252 EV Trained Special Attack and Speed lets me OHKO equal leveled Water Types that haven't been EV trained. It's hilarious.

lmao
I don't suggest getting Blast Burn though or any Hyper-Beam-like move. 2 Flamethrowers > 1 Blast Burn.

Eh, I'm not really too comfortable knowing that if my first attack doesn't OHKO the enemy, then their attack will OHKO me since my Typhlosion is EV trained in Speed and Special Attack. I use it as a last resort when I don't have too many options. For example, I have Typhlosion out, and the dude sends out Feraligatr. I could switch out to bring out Pikachu or Gardevoir (Which knows an Electric type move), but chances are that the enemy can predict that and will use Earthquake, which is both powerful and will deal HUGE damage to Gardevoir and knock out either Pikachu or Gardevoir. Let's assume my flying type is already knocked out as well from earlier in the battle. I'd rather have my Typhlosion take one for the team to weaken the Feraligatr so that when I send out Gardevoir to use Thunderbolt it can be taken out in one hit rather than taking heavy casualties.

Ah, I see.
Also, do you use Light Ball Pikachu?

Of course I ues a Light Ball Pikachu. If I didn't, it wouldn't be able to compare very well to EV trained pokemon :v

Yes, go catch a bird or something. Cats like birds.

You could take that Quilava to the end of the game solo if you really wanted to, since he'd always be overleveled.. but the game will be funner and easier if you catch some other monsters to round out your gang.
