Okay so after buying a snow tiger and doing some quick tests in ye old Shadow Missions I've come to the conclusion that this is one pretty sweet pet...it's not the best atm...but it's better than my other so "called combat pets" albeit I have to ride on the actual thing and attack.
However, seeing that your damage transfers directly to the Tiger when you hop on it. Not sure exactly what factors but from what I can tell with my char window open and my tiger's char window open the damage I had in my char window (enchants+title+base stats included in that damage) as well as crit, injury, and balance was exactly what was in my tiger's char window.
Now when you hop on it, you can use Smash, Defense, Counter, your Magic bolts, the basic necessities for any warrior. However, when you use these skills it goes by the rank of the tiger.
So, in order to get the most of this pet you probably are not only going to want to spend 15k nx on the tiger itself...but...you are probably going to want to throw anywhere from 12.5k nx - 25k nx (5-10 pet training pets pending on your luck...you may need much more) to max out it's Smash and/or Crit to Rank 1.
If you manage to do that...you basically just gave yourself a super fast Smash Train!
Anyways, Discuss this wonderful Tiger's potential. I'm considering testing out my Broniac while riding it

I wouldn't put the effort so much on the Tiger since it lacks WM.
Come the Dragons, then definitely. Get Smash, Crit and WM to Rank 1 through Pet Training Kits.
Profit.

True I suppose...however if you are planning on dashing in for a quick smash and dashing out, this pet would work quite well for that purpose and do decent damage in the process :thumb:.

...Hope range damage will transfer, or I'm screwed.

Well you can't do archery while on the Tiger from what I could tell....then again I only have melee and magic skills but my adv magic was blanked out so I'm going to have to guess that no you can't do archery on the tiger as it relies on the skills the Tiger has on what you can use while on it unfortunately. I can't test it tonight as my Tiger ran out of time as I was trying to level it in Ciar Basic Hardmode:gloom2:

You can as an elf, however.

Ah, I see...I don't play as an elf so I couldn't tell ya.
Anyways, I think for now what I'm going to do is just max out my Tiger's Skills to r6 and hold off on the pet training kit until I see what the Dragon will provide me, which all I have atm is speculation and until I actually get to play around with the Dragon I won't know for sure which one would truly be the better investment.

How does the Pet Training Kit work anyway?

Apparently from what I can tell with that Nexon told us is that when you use it, it will rank at least 1 skill past r6. However, it can and most likely will fail which will result on a few skills being dropped down a rank. However, 1 skill will always go up. Thus if you are lucky within 5 of these you can have r1 smash on your pet but if your are unlucky....$$$$$
Brilliant scheme if I don't say so myself >.> Perfect way to con your players into continually forking money over to have a maxed out pet.
Pet Training Kit?†you ask? Yes! This awesome cash shop item will allow you to permanently increase some of its skills, even if those skills have reached their maximum rank! For example, let’s say you want to increase the power of your new Snow Tiger’s Smash skill. You’ve already trained your Snow Tiger to Rank 5, the highest maximum skill the Snow Tiger can reach in Smash. By using the Pet Training Kit, there’s a possibility that fuzzy ol’ Siegfried might get Smash Rank 4!
The pet training kit has the potential to increase up to three different skills! However, anyone who has owned a pet in real life knows the struggles that they have with training pets, and sometimes they do something you don’t want them to! In this case, a skill might get its rank lowered. Don’t worry though – at least one skill will have its rank increased and the number of decreased ranks will never be higher than increased ranks.

Pet training kits guarantee a +1 and a -1 pretty much. you can get multiple +/- as well
Everytime you use one, it resets it to whatever the new one gives
thought I posted this info somewhere already...
for example - i got my lv43 black wolf to r5 smash (+1), r6 counterattack (+1), r6 critical (+1), r8 Defense (-1) using 1 kit

Could you elaborate on that one a bit more?

The pet training kit can only increase a skill by as much as one rank. However, it can increase up to three skills by one point and decrease up to three skills by one point. If you use two pet training kits, the latter will completely overwrite the former.
Examples (Snow Tiger w/all r5)
First use:
Rest +1
First Aid
Defense
Smash +1
Counterattack
Combat Mastery
Critical Hit -1
Healing -1
Lightning Bolt
Firebolt
Icebolt
Second use:
Rest
First Aid
Defense
Smash -1
Counterattack
Combat Mastery +1
Critical Hit
Healing
Lightning Bolt
Firebolt
Icebolt
etc.

It says, "The number of skills decreased will never be greater than the number of ranks increased."
So in essence, you could get three ranked skills and one, two or three deranked skills?
It isn't always 1:1?
