  Aww...well there goes my theory...I thought you could get the pet's skills to r1....well that kills the purpose/goal I was aiming for somewhat...oh wells...guess my dream of an overpowered pet has yet to become reality...then again having a pet stronger than a player would be very scary.

  The highest possible pet smash rank is r4 (white tiger (r5) + Pet Training Kit (+1))
  
  The kits are useful for specific pets. Thunder Spaniels, White Tigers and Dragons come to mind.

  It'd be more useful if we had more pets with actual unique skillsets. What you've listed is pretty much all there is. I mean, you could bump a Critter Humanoid's Windmill from A to 9 using the kit, but that'd be significantly less useful than doing so on the Dragon.
  
  Damnit they're going to have to release a lot more powerful pets to keep up with what they're cranking out lately. Weak stuff just really isn't cutting it.

  No kidding >.> If they want people to spend on the Pet Training Kits, they need to give us pets that are powerful and are somewhat unique instead of the cut of the mill stuff :/
  
  The Tiger is a step in the right direction....I just hope that the Dragon meets my expectations based on all the hype I'm hearing. Cause, I think the Tiger is falling short of what all the Hype was about.

  I'm not an elf, I can't range from the tiger's back anyway. What I meant was that I hope when I sit on it that my range damage will transfer rather than bare-handed melee. Otherwise I'm screwed, since my STR is like... 60-ish.

  From what I can tell, my tiger does decent damage while I'm on it wielding a bow. I was lagging too badly to check things properly. Poor tiger got pwnt by lag.

  I'd be interested in knowing whether or not bow damage transfers to the tiger as well... And would it be possible to use mounted support shot before attacking with the tiger?

  1. Bow damage does not transfer to the tiger. When a player wielding a ranged weapon is mounted atop a Snow Tiger, Bengal Tiger, Fire Dragon or Thunder Dragon the pet's melee attacks will deal barehand damage.
  
  2. Elves can pull off support + melee atop a mount but it's not worth it.
  
  First of all, your best course of action would be smash. Pet smash loads in 2 seconds. Support Shot's confirmed duration is 3 seconds. With a flawless connection, you have 1 second to switch to a decent weapon and actually use the skill.
  
  This begs to question why you put that much effort into smashing an enemy which you could have magnumed 3-6 times.

  It's faster than other mounts and gives slight flexibility. While the damage from its melee attacks might not impress, the ability to at least utilize normal melee attacks could be worth the investment.
  
  Realistically, Elves should stick to the Thoroughbred for mounted combat while unmounted Archers will either spam pet missiles or use Guardian v2.3
