I dunno why, but I'm downloading Mabinogi again. I just hada motivative comment, 'I can do it!' :thumb:
Rofl.
But, after some exstensive research, I've decided upon a range (or range/melee) character. But, what race is ... better?
I need something strong from the start, not too hard, I hate elven quests/trans, arrow capacity, new bows.
So vote in the poll. First to.. 5/10 wins. Post good reasons! Please and thank you!!

Elf for magnum spam.

Although Humans have AR, Mirage Missle and faster running speed is way more beneficial. Besides a high ranking elf archer can easily dominate a human

But - But - But, how do you get through with the ugly trans quest? And lack of role-playing? :P!

Role playing as in generation quests? You live with it or make a human.... RP as in roleplay as a character from w.e? Just find a RP group/guild. And ask for help on trans quest

As a elf who ranges, I can say I regret it. I mean like everyone knows about AR and other stuff but the main issue for me is, Elf-Range lag.

Oh, some people don't get that. If you get that, make a human. Otherwise, let the mags fly!

-Makes Human-
Now I can be Raj. o.o Daggers or Archery...?
-Thinks really hard-
-Waits for someone else to reply... cause Raj ish afraid that Raj will get in trouble for too many new threads-

Oh, but if you want a character who can fit almost any build, human is the way to go ._.

Raj wrote on 2010-05-01 08:59
I think I just really want the role-playing, more than anything.
The whole 'all build' thing is for pros.
I needa figure out something PRIMARY!
If I don't lose motivation midway, I'll probably have daggers, a formal suit, bolts of electricity swarming out of my daggers, and a LLB across my back.
But, the question is primary. Magic is kinda complex, even with Trigger's guide, so it's Range or (Daggers) Melee.
And- Another question.
Should I make Raj or Ash? :O! THE ULTIMATE QUESTION!!

Chockeh wrote on 2010-05-01 09:00
Magic is not complex at all D: .Magic is even better for elves than humans, sometimes :O.

Range is probably the least complicated branch, as in it's the most limited. Weaksauce multi aggro control means it'll blow your mind when you juggle 3x aggro, where warriors and mages will dive into 10x+.

Elf.. Sure, Humans have AR, but if you've seen high ranking elves before, you know what I mean.

Ash and Archery it is.

You can get by as a Mage without knowing like 80% of what's written in that guide, IMO.
Often times, as a Human, I really wish I had chosen my Elf to be my main. Human archery is horrendously boring in comparison, and Elves have serious advantages in both Magic and Range, the run speed and Hide action alone covers a lot of flaws for both Mages and Archers, not even mentioning faster Range skills and cheaper Magic skills.
It didn't sound like you were too interested in Melee from the beginning. I wouldn't let the trans quest or a wide selection of weapons throw you off. You can easily get past both those obstacles in under a week.
