My guild has a lot of events =] and a good portion of the guild gets together at least once a week to run something together. Going to field bosses is also a lot of fun, if you can get your hands on the times.
Recently we had a guild parade, I managed to record it but it's super laggy (I guess you can figure out whats going on by listening to the skype chat):

Atm we're having a wish list event where everyone wrote down on our guild forums what they wanted for the holidays, and the entire guild is helping each other get what people asked for. It's actually going really well and a good portion of peoples wish list items have already been fulfilled. As for upcoming events..I know we're going to be making a holiday music video xD over winter break.
Back when I first joined this guild we always did random things like sneaking into guild war on the weeks we didn't officially go and doing this:

Other things like active guild chat, guild skype room, and guild forums always help.
I'm not sure about the level requirements of your guild (or if there even are any), but mine currently has a 1k+ level requirement soon to be raised to 2k+ when g13 rolls around mainly because of harder missions coming out. We also have a member cap of about 40.
We found mixing people with different levels tends to cause problems with people feeling left out if say their under level 1k and cant come on hardmode runs. I've seen other guilds who manage different levels well, but with most of our guild levels ranging from 2k~4k, we normally turn away people under 1k =p as we really only run hardmode missions when grinding during the week.

The best thing about good guilds is definitely the banter. I just couldn't enjoy mabi without banter. :)

Well, Ewecania has an active forum and they post events, whether or not we're pillaging GB that week, art, and you have to fill a recruitment form through a private board that only the admins can see on there. The members are also out there and fun, and they always do things together. Most of them are over 1k in level, but they still help out the shrimps like me. I think a good guild doesn't make it so you expect to be helped with every little thing, I mean hey, you're a guild, but go to do your own thing every once and a while. A good guild does do things together, but not all the time. And when they do, it's fun. Also, no drama llamas.

Gotta run very soon but going to reply to this quickly > <.
I was thinking about setting the total level bar at 850 in the official recruitment thread...however, we've already recruited three people (Wow, we work fast lol) and they're all 1.5k+
I completely understand where you're coming from when you say lower levels gets left out...because I basically had to start this guild from the ground-up again after leader was handed to me a year ago. Luckily, I got some semi-nub players that stuck with me throughout the whole year, and we're pretty much all over 1k total now.
However, most guilds in our server is either not recruiting, or have their requirements set at no higher than 500....1k+ seems to give off an elitest attitude to me and that's not how I want to portray my guild. At the same time, I know that with most members being 1k+, it'll be hard for a lower level to fit in.
Any suggestions > < Anyone ?

Yea it definitively portrays an Elitest attitude
In my guild forums recruitment area we explain why we have our requirements set so high, and I will say setting the bar at 800 sounds pretty decent.
I know awhile back we let some lower levels in who showed that they were making effort xD to reach 1k and now most of them are part of the guilds core, some of them becoming some of our best members. I think it's okay for lower levels to join as long as their understanding about it and show that their making an effort to reach that 1k standard.
I think it's best to look at people on a situational basis as well =] maybe instead of setting a level standard explain the level average of your guild, and expand on that. Generally interviewing people or having them add you in game to talk for a bit helps.

Sometimes setting a bar is necessary s: anyways what I love about my guild is the people in it...and how everyones willing to pitch in, we are all like a family, really close and we all share like everything with everyone! Which is awesome, just last night there was 10+ of us in a group skype call teasing each other, making jokes and laughing our asses off until bed time.
Recently we decided upon splitting up the guild responsibilities among a larger group of people. I love that we go to guild battle, its so much fun to be joking around on vent and laughing when we run up and takes someone's kill in the guild as a joke of course. Then we plan times to help out people with skill training, it's better to look at it as not helping the specific person getting skill help, more like if you help them they can be a bigger asset to the guild, (like spamming alby for enchant scrolls for someone training enchanting).
Also keeping a posted/updated list of who has what skills would help, or who is an royal alchemist. Keeping updated buying/selling lists for people helps too, allows for people to know what everyone needs and if they see it cheaper, grab it for them and get them to pay you back. Planned dungeons and shadow missions are awesome too, or just making sure that when someone wants to do one, they can ask in chat and people are up for it. (I know I'm hunting a fleet ES atm and if I ask people to do fomor attack with me, a lot of people jump on it fast which is awesome to have those kinds of guild members)
Also having someone recruit members is good too, but being sure to go threw the proper channels when allowing people into the guild. Don't make someone make an application and then let someone else in without one, it looks bad on you and can make your members look at you poorly for doing something hypocritical. Also a note I took from my friend in rebel was that they do not let anyone in if a single person has a problem with them. Keep trolling and drama to a minimum it turns people off from your guild as well as makes people want to leave if they can't deal with it.
I think thats it rofl.

You have no idea how much the newer generation of members abused me in enchanting, borrowing of stuff and returning months later, etc.
Not to mention there are things about some of the members that I'll not say here. If you want more info PM.
Imperium...well there was a guy that hated me. I thought it'd be better if I left so he could be in peace.

Don't you feel limited, at least socially from being the only member in your guild?

I know plenty of people who aren't even IN guilds who are pretty satisfied socially.

I dont think you'll want to be very much like badcompany.
But I like the fact that we get so much attention in the Mari Server. I figure, "Hey, I would rather be infamous than forgotten."
