I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but...its Mabinogi related isn't it?
I've reached 2.4k total, obtained tons and tons of stuff. I just grew bored of it. Now I want to quit.
I'm retiring or retire-...I don't know yet, but hey. Is there a certain way to quit Mabi? I thought it would be best if I could get a good opinion from you guys. I'm sure many people that are retired still get on Mabinogi Nation, so might as well ask.
There is one way that I'm going at the moment, which is giving away my stuff to my closest friends. I thought if I don't have anything on me I won't play, without weapons, clothes, items and gold, what is there to use? So I thought. Thats one way I see to retire.
Hmm I'm not sure if I should give away why I am retiring or not, but I'll say it anyways. Just grew too tired of it. Thats all~ So thank you if you give your opinion~!

You know I'm sadder then ****, theres this dude playing the flute on mabi that is a effing sad song and your retiring? I've never met you but I bet it would have been great to meet you.
Just start a new character plain scratch or something if you did retire spend more time on Mabination? I'm not sure what to say.

Give everything you have away, including your account. Have the friend that takes your account change the password as well. Play something else as well.

Just get in the habit of doing other things and you'll think even logging on once every 3 months is a chore.

Lol that does sound sad. But don't take it as a sad thing. I'm not completely sad about retiring, its more of a move on really.
Also I was really thinking of starting a new character, starting on the Alexnia, Tarlach or Ruairi, but as I thought about that all it is just a restart. Not really interested in restarting.

Drop everything in your inventory or give them all away.
Then, delete your characters, delete all your pets.
I can assure you that you will regret these decisions and you will rage and never come back.

Lol dropping everything was my first idea. Dropping a 5/5 defensive valencia on the Alter but it wasn't until my friend asked me for the burn :x As for deleting, maybe. I might turn that into a yes instead of that Maybe.

(not trolling) but the true way to quit Mabinogi is to make a completely long and new password, write it down, then put it in a box/capsule then hide said capsule under your bed, on a shelf, etc. with a message on it saying "Open in 2012/2013/2014", then you forget said password and account information.
Then when the time and year comes, you go to the time capsule, open it and relog into Mabinogi. You'll be filled with so much nostalgia that you'll say to yourself that Mabinogi wasn't a waste of time as tears roll down your cheek. It gave you feelings of accomplishment, joy, love, hate, and sadness and that there were many friends in-game that supported you and all those memories that you played and remember will burst out like a flood and wrap you with warmth. Then as you log out of the game, you put the paper back in the box and back in the shelf. Now you can truly quit Mabinogi as you finally played it for a final time after a few years of inactivity with no regrets as you continue with your life.

In all honesty, however, don't delete your character. All that hard work, don't throw it away. You don't need to play, but it'll remind ya of all the good times you had in the game.
I still have my lv. 65 Cleric from years of playing MapleStory. Eventually, I lost my excitement for the game, but I never deleted the character.
Just find hobbies, really. Mind over matter. You're in control of your life.

I must stab you now for that is one great idea, but if I knew I made the capsule I would easily find it and want to play again in 2012 December. Maybe if I make someone else hide in then manage to find it in 2020? But yeah thats one great idea you got. Might consider using it.

Getting hacked is a good way to quit though. I got hacked and felt like ****, quit for a while, but came back for friends. If you have nothing left for you in mabi, getting 'hacked' or sealing off your account somehow will get you away.
