Well, I was thinking, what if you could choose to "two-hand" single handed weapons?
Like if you twohanded a bastard sword, stamina use would go up, damage would go up, perhaps the smash would be like a normal 2 hander's smash and maybe attack speed would increase.

This kinda reminds me of final fantasy tactic's double grip skill, which uses 2 hands to hold a one handed weapon

But isn't there not enough room to hold the sword with two hands? You'd need to add a special modification that would disrupt the balance.

.-. Have you ever played Demon's Souls? EVERY equipable weapon can be dual weilded OR two handed. Shields included.

I'm not sure I like this idea...

Final Fantasy VI - Gauntlet

I love that game man, but there has to be a downside. Since in Mabi you can't defend/dodge like in Demon's Souls. Demon's Souls you got less defense when blocking while two-handing something

I don't get it.
If you wanted to "two-hand" a sword, wouldn't you just wield a Two-Handed Sword, which is obviously the stronger weapon in this case?

If you use two hands in a onehanded sword, you are able to use more power to swing it. o .e

You might be able to swing it faster, but I don't see how that translates to more power seeing as its a lighter weapon.
Faster & lighter = Slower & heavier? (the Two-Handed Sword, in this case)

You'd still exert more power if you were two-handing it.

If you wanna get technical... o_o
F = m*a
Power = F * v = m * a * v
Heavier object (higher mass) swings slower (low speed).
Lighter object (lower mass) swings faster (high speed).
Seems like a balance to me. You exert the same power, really.

lmao but if you were like using a gladius with two hands for example, maybe it would do the same damage but the speed would help it cut more into the skin or something ionno. I JUST KNOW ITS BETETR, AIGHT?

The thing about a one handed sword is that they're build to be weilded by one hand.
You'd injure yourself swinging a one handed sword using two handed sword motions.
Not only that, but there isn't enough room for two hands on the handle of a one handed sword.
[Edit: But that's just for normal attacks. I can see how this concept would work with skills like smash and counter. Even windmill.]

A truck going at 20 mph (higher mass, low speed) can hurt you just as bad as a car moving at 50 mph (lower mass, high speed).
