Back on topic, I'm a little confused at the new magic formula. Is the magic attack % based or is it point based? like is it 1 magic attack for every 20 int or 1% magic attack for every 20 int?
It's 1% bonus damage for every 20 Int. There's also going to be new enchants that add Magic Attack (also % based) and Magic Defense.
I'm not sure how that relates to intermediate damage though, because of the 20% nerf.
Would 200 Int (+10%) be...
3000 Fireball base damage - 20% Nerf = 2400 new base damage + 10% Int Bonus = 2640 final damage
or...
3000 Fireball base damage - 20% Nerf + 10% Int Bonus = 2700 final damage
If it's the former (which would make more sense), then it's actually going to take 500 Int, not 400 Int, to regain pre-G13 damage before calculating pre-G13 int boosts.

If only 500 Int is needed, then I don't lose any damage on my advanced magic, which is awesome. If not, it's just going to take a little extra effort to make it the same as before.

About the enchants I already pre-looked at them all but I was still confused if they were % or point based, this really cleared things up for me though thank you!
About how it relates, i'm not 100% sure either, >.<
Is this right?
70-80 Ice bolt Damage + 30% int Bonus = 91-104?
And if the above is right then..
Do I combine the % bonus of Bolt magic mastery
(15%) and ice magic mastery
(15%) with int? to make this?
70-80 Ice bolt Damage + 60% Skill & int Bonus = 112-128?
Add Crown Ice wand
(28%)..
70-80 Ice Bolt Damage + 88% Skill, Int, and Wand Bonus = 131-150?
Add Hebona Robe Bonus
(10%) and Bolt Mastery Master title
(15% for bolts)
70-80 Ice Bolt Damage + 113% Bonus = 149-170...?

It still makes the whole Mage thing more tedious. Although we'll certainly notice the reduction, it's still there. Just kind of drawing away some of the epicness leading up to becoming a good mage, you know? Given we (the current Mages) have been able to enjoy the build up, other Mages circa this nerf won't. Hence why only we notice the nerf.
Either way, QQ. Magic isn't that OP to begin with, so I am rather disappoint.
Melee hybrid GET.

Been there for ages lol. I plan on doing Down Attack and Weapon Mastery once I r1 Fire and Lightning Masteries. First is to beef up my Fireball and Thunder then go back to doing melee.
After that, hands down it's going to be bolt composer and then I'll quickly nab hailstorm and finish up ice spear and then do ice mastery.
That's my long term plan anyways.

I was told in a different thread that bolts don't get the int bonus damage
I'm also pretty sure %'s aren't additive

I think we would get buff more better in G13. It only got nerfed down 20% for inter magic, but you can make those up back by having 400 ints easily. Now if you have like.. 600 Ints.. your magic will do 10% more damages.
Basically.. it's a nerf for mages who doesn't have 400 or higher, but buff for other mages who have 400+ Ints.

1% Magic Damage/Defense per 20 Intelligence. Thus, 49.9% (~50%) Magic Damage for 999 Intelligence.

Fairly sure it's the former. Nerf to base damage would make sense to come first, before applying anything else.

Also fairly certain the bonus stack in a multiplicative manner, not additive. I don't have an r1 mage to test it out though.

So, early to mid-game magic is worse, endgame magic is better. Gotcha.

It's nearly 140 MP (90ish with Ice Magic Mastery, reduction set and 500 int), not big difference from Adv Magic.

Good Job Gen. Support the Hailstorm >:) also it seems to me that this will be a buff for anyone over 500int

Also its 50 for the initial set up and the 4mp/sec. You can't really rely on the NA wiki its constantly wrong :P. Use Mabinogi Wiki JP with google translate. Much more accurate
