I thought it was very interesting and it actually explained the story in mabinogi a lot better...
Anyways Discuss,
The Gods:
Aton Cimeni
Absolute God, nothing much is know about Aton Cimeni other than the fact that he created the the Artifacts of Gods such as the Lia Fail, Claimh Solas. In the Myth, these items are also known as the 4 Treasures: Lia Fail (Stone of Destiny), Claimh Solas (Sword of Light), Cauldron of Dagda, and Brionac (Spear of Lugh). In the game, Lia Fail appeared in G3 when Cichol tried to reincarnate Macha, Claimh Solas appeared in G9, Brionac appeared in G10. The Heart of Courcle, can arguably be viewed as the Cauldron of Dagda. Will Aton Cimeni appear later in the game? Perhaps, perhaps not.
Lymilark
God of Love, Worshiped by the Churches in Mabinogi it is one of the three Gods the Church worships even though the Church place more emphasis on Lymilark. Although mentioned by many NPCs through out the game, Lymilark has never actually appeared like Aton Cimeni. Lymilark is probably separate identity from Aton Cimeni, but it is not unreasonable to think that perhaps Lymilark, Hymerark, and Jeamiderark as a trinity identity as Aton Cimeni (Fushion???).
Hymerark
God of Freedom, one of the trinity gods like Lymilark, nothing much is known about Hymerark and most of you probably don't even know he was mentioned in the game...
Jeamiderark
God of Peace, one of the trinity gods like Lymilark, nothing much is known about Jeamiderark and most of you probably don't even know he was mentioned in the game...
Nuadha
Lord of Gods, appeared in G12. Although referred as a God, he is also referred as the King. This suggests that perhaps Nuadha is not really a god, but achieved "God" Status, it is not unreasonable to think this because in the game he tried to help you to obtain "God" status as well. The Lord of the Gods title was probably given to him for being the most powerful of the Gods, as he battled against the Cromm Cruaich in the past. In this aspect it is also best to view that Nuadha and the other "Gods" as the lesser gods unlike Aton Cimeni, Lymilark, Hymerark, and Jeamiderark. Nuadha's story was a tragedy, Nuadha who tried to protect the Tuatha de Dannan in the 1st Battle of Battle of Magh Tuireadh lost one of his arm in the battle and was dethroned by his people seeing his imperfect body is unfit to rule. In the 2nd Battle of Magh Tuireadh, the people asked for his aid once again with the impending forces of the Fomors. Nuadha returned with a silver artificial arm known as Airgetlám (origin of the name: Nuadha the Silver Arm) and fought against the Cromm Cruaich. Fearing the the power of Cromm Cruaich, his people left the battle field and Nuadha was forced to battle against Cromm Cruiach alone. Although he was able to defeat Cromm Cruiach, Nuadha himself lost his life in the end as well. In the Myth, Nuadha named Lugh as his successor and was killed by Balor the Evil Eye.
Morrighan
Goddess of War and Vengeance. Morrighan first appeared in G1 asking player to protect Erinn from the attacks of the Fomors. Morrighan also have 2 other sisters: Macha and Neamhain who were mentioned and appeared in the later generation. The three goddesses are known as the Badb Catha. In G2, she asked the players to obtain the Powers of the Paladin an in G3, Morrighan asked the player to prevent the resurrection of Macha. It was revealed at G3 the Morrighan lied to the player and the Tuatha de Dannan not telling them that Erinn is actually Tir Na Nog. G3 also revealed that Cromm Cruaich the Dragon was the one responsible for petrifying Morrighan in G1. Is not unreasonable to think that the Dragons are actually superior than "Gods" because of this, but withe the power of the artifacts created by Aton Cimeni, the "Gods" can be as powerful as the Dragons or stronger. In G9-G12, it was shown that Morrighan actually helped the Fomorian to destroy the Partholon but helping the Tuatha de Dannan. The end of G11 also show Morrighan vague mentioning the player becoming too powerful and may becoming a threat. In G12, Morrighan mistook the player being the one who killed Neamhain being the only one able to use the power of Brionac but it was actually Nuadha who drained Neamhain of her powers and killed her (Debatable...). In the end, Morrighan bestow the player part of her power to worked together to seal Nuadha in the Throne Room of Falias. It would seem that Morrighan have some other agenda at hand (perhaps dealing with the return of Aton Cimeni?), and in G13 the Goddess would cross path with the player once again in the Land of Avon.
Macha
Goddess of Destruction, one of the three goddesses of the Badb Catha. Macha first appeared in G3 as Cichol the God of Fomor tries to reincarnated Macha through Triona. The City of Emain Macha was named after Macha, originally the city was called Macha but due to the curse from the Goddess Macha, the city renamed itself to break the curse. The story of Goddess Macha is a sad one, Macha gave up her powers of goddess in order to become mortal to be with a man who she fell in love with. In the end, the man betrayed Macha. Macha, who lost trust for mortals suicide at the Lake of Emain Macha and placed the curse on the City of Emain Macha. At the end of G3, the player was able to stop the resurrection of Macha, so even though Macha was mentioned in the game she has never actually appeared. It is also interesting to note the fact that Macha "gave up" her power as a goddess to become mortal, which suggests even more that the "Gods" is more of a status.
Neamhain
Goddess of Light, also known as Irinid in the Land of Iria, one of the three goddesses of the Badb Catha. Neamhain first appeared in G10 disguising herself as a lost elf in the past. After the 2nd Battle of Magh Tuireadh, Nemahain left for the Land of Iria and bestow the power of the Heart of Courcle to the Elf and Giant race of Iria to combat against the Dragons of Iria. The Elves and Giants then became greedy and wants the Heart of Courcle for their own and began to fight amongst themselves. Angered by the actions of the Giants and Elves, Nemahain placed a curse on the Land of Iria where Physis became a frozen tundra and Filia became scorching desert. The curse's physical manifestation are the giant markings that is placed on the Land of Iria. In G10, it was revealed that the goddess actually have a son, Elatha, who belong to neither light nor darkness and is a demigod. Elatha, who tried to protect the player and the NPCs gave up himself to the the Cichol the God of Fomor through the pact of noitar arat. Nemahain seeing the mortals haven't changed from the past and takes back the Heart of Courcle, but was threatened by Cichol with her son Elatha. In the end, Elatha was absorbed by the Doppelganger and died. To her grief in losing her son, Nemahain wants to cleansing the Land of Erinn by erasing all existence through the power of Brionac in G11. However, this was prevented by Morrighan and the player. In G12, Neamhain was killed by Nuadha after he stolen her power of light.
Cichol
God of Fomors, the main villain portrayed through out the game. In G1~G3, Cichol lead the Force of Fomor attacking the Land of Erinn with the help of the Dark Lord Morgant, but each time his plot was foiled by the player. In G9, He tried to remake the Land of Erinn through alchemy and announced himself as "King" of the Fomor instead of God, which brings up an interesting point that perhaps like Nuadha, he was a King that is elevated to God Status. In G10, Cichol tried to destroy the soul stream but was stopped by the player. In G11, Cichol warns the player about the Power of Caliburn, and it was revealed by Mata that Cichol was longer considered as the "King" of the Fomor. In an attempt to stop Jenna giving Neamhain the Brionac and he was killed by Jenna. Before death, Cichol cast a spell on the player naming the player as his heir and bestow the player parts of his power. At the end of G12, the villain returned and appeared in the Falias, it is unknown what is Cichol planning now and that whether his death was faked in G11 or he was was simply revived through some way.
Other NPC Worthy Mentioning:
Lugh/Mogrant
Lugh Lavada, the Knight of Light, also known as Morgant the Dark Lord. He is a worthy mention because like the player, he also have the Power of Paladin, which is a power through the blessing of the god, spirit, and nature. In G2, he mentioned that Goddess Morrighan did a good job in awakening the player to obtain the Power of Paladin in such a short time, so perhaps he knows what Morrighan's plans are? In G3, Ruairi questioned why Morgant followed Cichol's orders and was told that he has his own reason, and makes one wonder what could that be. As to why Lugh changed from the Knight of Light to the Dark Lord, it was partially explained in G9 that Lugh lost faith in the Tutha de Dannan after the 2nd Battle of Magh Tuireadh. What happened in detail could be found in the book of The Forgotten Legend of Fiodh in the game. Basically, in the 2nd Battle of Magh Tuireadh, with the loss of Nuadha and Morrighan, the Tutha de Dannan was losing the war and forced to retreat. Lugh lead the people to the Forest of Fiodh and began to talk to the Spirits of the Forest with the Spirit Language that no one understood. The Spirits were the ones that granted Lugh the Power of Paladin, and Lugh asked the Spirits to allow him and his people to take refugee in the deepest parts of the forest. The Spirits, not trusting the humans because of past experiences with the Partholon trusted Lugh, allowed them to enter under one condition, and that is to promise not to cut down the one "Mother Tree" of the forest. As time pass, the forest became base of the Tutha De Dannan, and Lugh was able to regroup his forces and defeat the Fomor in the 2nd Battle of Magh Tuireadh. Lugh was then hailed to be the King and he accepted and move to the capital. Some of the people remained in the forest and became to create environment suitable for living. As time passes, the people begin to cut down trees for houses and living spaces, and finally they cut down the "Mother Tree" and the Spirits felt betrayed. The Spirits shout out to Lugh in the Spirit Langauage in anger and destroyed the houses the humans created in the forest and sealed up the forest. This news then was received by Lugh, who sigh in Spirit Language that no one understood gave up his Kingship to someone else and disappeared forever. It was then said occassionally people will see a phantom in the forest talking to itself saying:
No matter how many victory the human have won,
The lost honor will not be returned,
A broken promise,
Like a shattered dagger piercing through the heart,
You are no longer worthy,
To wear this blessed armor,
Everything that's holy and pure,
Will be returned to the forest.
Cromm Cruaich
Cromm Cruaich is a Dragon and the Boss of G3. It was revealed in G8 that Cromm Cruaich comes from the Land of Iria and its chosen to be the next Gold Dragon. A Gold Dragon is the leader of the Dragon groups. Every thousand year, a Gold Dragon is born, and through the conduction ceremony a conductor will be chosen to aid the dragon. The conductor will affect how the Gold Dragon will be. In the past, the Conductor was name Quasar, and Quasar's Darkness swallowed the Gold Dragon, leading it in an Age of Darkness, but was ended with the arrivial of Irinid, or rather, Neamhain the Goddess of Light. It can be think as that in the past, because the Gold Dragon's Conductor was of darkness, the dragons sided with the Fomors, which would explain why Cromm Cruaich worked with Cichol, and in G3, the players were able to break the seal. in G8, Cromm Cruaich was killed by the player who were tricked by the Red Dragon Crumena.
Conclusion:
1.Gods are divided in different tiers-
Absolute Gods Tier: Aton Cimeni
Higher Gods Tier: Lymilark, Hymerark, Jeamiderark
Lesser Gods Tier: Morrighan, Macha, Nemahain, Nuadha, Cichol
2. Lesser Gods are weaker than the Dragons, but with Artifacts created by the Absolute God Aton Cimeni, the Lesser God can be more powerful than the Dragons.
3. Anyone can become God (Lesser)
4. Gods can become mortal
5. Gods can die and can be revived through conductor cerenmony
