Yeah we know T 3T but we are taking about this:

Actually, when devCAT changed the Destiny system to the one we currently know now, they kept the system of receiving EXP while doing a Life skill. They just scrapped the Merchant class's 2x training, that's all.
For example, Weaving. When you open the Weaving window to put in your materials...

That is the EXP from doing a Life skill (in other words, not training EXP).
The EXP varies depending on the product you're making (though I think the harder the product is to make, the more EXP you get).

The EXP shows up as "Living" EXP on the system log.

300-500 XP a potion. 5k xp from spider keys IIRC
Yeah, spider keys are 5000 EXP each (I can sort of see a market for this). Isn't it like 200 EXP per 50-type potion?
I don't want to spend AP to see how many EXP 100-type potions are, but I'm guessing 300. And then some of the more complicated potions are probably 500.
Just a heads-up, Living EXP doesn't apply to Alchemy Life skills or Enchant.

I gotta ask if living exp is rewarded for playing music or not. I think people can figure out on their own why that would be a bad thing if it where...

But there's a Spinning Wheel in the dungeon, right?

It only gives Living EXP for Life skills that require a window to put in materials.
That is, Refining, Weaving, Handicraft, Potion-Making, Tailoring, Blacksmith, and Carpentry. Haven't tried Cooking to know if it does or not.

Yay, handicraft! I am definitely not using up any of my handicraft materials til then. Not like there's that MANY, but still.
No merchant class=sadness. Life skill training..

Archer. Definitely going archer on my giant.
...
...
Not really... probably Warrior for down attack, then Mage. Need those fire/lightning/bolt materies.

I'm not even sure if they let you do that.
Throwing Attack training isn't boosted by Archer. :l

Going by the wiki, none of the giant skills are boosted by anything. Sadness... But it doesn't matter to me anyway... I capped / mastered them the first few days anyway~
The only reason I can think of a giant going archer is for the dexterity boost for crafting... if you are REALLY hard up on dexterity.

My destiny is to become history's mightiest disciple.
