When I first started watching this I didn't get the beginning. I never did understand Homura throughout most of the series as her true reasons for her actions weren't fully revealed until episode 10. That's when it all finally made sense.
I also found Episode 10 to be the most heart breaking episode as well.

Nothing is more tragic than repeating the same time line over and over again to try and help a person you hold dear to you, only for you to drift farther and farther away from that person as you repeat the same events over and over again.

It was definitely meant for her to be all mysterious and shady though.
I hated Kyoko at the start, but I grew really attached to her, and I like whoever voiced her. The voice was super cute, tomboyish and yet so adorablee
