When I still played I revived people all the time when I saw them dead. Made me feel good inside. :)
I also tried to save chickens and sheep from foxes and wolves. I always felt sad when I was too late though. :(

It was part of accepted mabi social custom when I started playing to revive anyone you see with a feather up, and to carry feathers with you for that purpose, no matter what. Being a poor newbie was no excuse for not having stacks of feathers. As such, I reflexively hit ctrl+j and rez anything with a feather over it.
That said, there have been times where I was lounging at the altar in taill or tara, chatting, and didn't see someone behind me with their feather up. If you're dead, with feather up, and no one is reviving you, then ask. Just like it shouldn't be a big deal for them to feather you, it shouldn't be a big deal for you to say "help please."
As for adv. feathers... don't get me started. My basic policy is unless you hand me one ahead of time in preperation for something like baol final, peaca, or some other hard content... don't bother asking me. If I have some adv feathers, it is so I can do exactly that. Adv feathers are expensive, and no one replaces them when you use them on their behalf. Since g2 I have easily gone through a dozen stacks of them, and not had a single one replaced, ever.
Yes nubs ask for adv feather revives all the time. I'm sorry, but if you're doing ciar/normal and die, go to the statue. If you're spamming Their Method in deadly and get munched by a lage spike, leave the mission and do it again. If you dropped your broadsword, so what. it costs almost nothing to get it back from Eavan/Duncan and they'll even bless it for you! Unless you drop some expensive pd armor/clothing that would cost more than the price of and adv. feather to retrieve from lost and found, or are doing some difficult dungeon/mission that would be a huge loss of time to start over... don't bother. adv feathers are not to be used just because you died while grinding.
Meh. guess I got started anyway. /peeves

I would like to revive them.
I'm incredibly competitive, you see, so when I see that feath, it instantly becomes a race to see who gets to revive them first. They're always like, "thanks" n'such, thinking I did it just to be nice. And while I did do it just to be nice, there's always that other side of me shouting loudly, "FOOLS! WHO AMONG YOU HAD THE COURAGE OR THE STRENGTH TO REVIVE HIM? NONE OF YOU! I AM THE MOST SUPERIOR OUT OF EVERYONE IN THIS ROOM...PROBABLY THIS ENTIRE UNIVERSE!"
Unfortunately, I am also supernostrically forgetful. So I never know which pet has my feathers, and once someone sees me walk up the the dead'n, summoning and unsummoning pets like I'm lookin around n'such, they usually run right over and steal my [s]kill[/s] revive. Then I have no choice but to curse my own weakness.

God damnit. I just made it all the way to the end of Shadow Cast City and the person (random) I was duo'ing with failed to revive me at the boss because she didn't bring any feathers.
Why don't these people have any feathers on them?

I revive any dead people. I don't bother with pets, unless we're doing a dungeon. I leveled once for resurrecting a guy recently.

*Random person pop into thread*
Quote from Arsik;293123:
Of course, I've been bitten by people that have dropped an item when they died and had the feather up outside of the altar/dungeon after they just appeared there. Because they had their feather up, I revived them, but they were apparently AFK, in which case their item vanished. The person then chewed me out because they weren't ready to be revived yet. Because of that, I do wait until the person that died and dropped an item asks for help. If there isn't any request for help after 5 minutes, I ask them if they need a revive to see if they are there. Rather not get berated because I did them a good deed and they were careless enough to not take precautions to keep their item.
I've never in my entire mabi life heard of that situation.
But it's really not your fault since it's the dead person's choice to put up feth or not.
As for me I always rev people on alters and stonehedges, but I got a bit skeptical of randomers on the field when I was being mobbed by field bosses and a useless dead guy was shouting at me to rev him. I did rev him eventually, but all he did was cuss at me for killing everything and stomped off angrily.

I revive anyone dead I see, unless I was the one who killed them/leechers who got killed by monsters.

At the field bosses such as Desert Dragon and Red Dragon..
When something good like Beholder Shield and possibly a good sewing pattern drops in front of you..What do people do? Loot the item in your face and scream for joy "Yay I got a [Insert Item here.]"
Of course, when you don't got enough exp to revive yourself..

I always carry a minimum of 20 feathers on me and at least one advance feather on me. I'm a nice guy when it comes to people being in distress.

I usually revive everyone I see. Pets? Only my friends, and others, not so much. I keep about 30 feathers, so no worries.

I saw the first reply as saying "I ignore people that are dead in front of me all the time, I just did it like 5 minutes ago"
that's what I meant by contradictions
 sorry. Yeah I meant I had just revived someone at the altar. Woah, big difference there. "Live and Let Live"
