Or at least a certain type of weapon.
Swords/Blunts/Axes/Melee use Str.
Bows/Crossbows use Dex. (Atlatls should use Dex too, but eh...)
Wands and Staves use Int.
I think it'd be interesting if DevCat came up with a weapon type or skill tab that focuses primarily on the Will stat.
It'd be a high critical weapon, for sure.

The force.
Force throw
Force Lightning
Force control(like CoD but without scrolls)
Planet life drain(it exists)
And an ability that passively strengthens your partymates as long as you are alive.

Whatever it is, it would definitely be interesting!
Love your ideas!

this is mabinogi not TTGL lol. Plus you can't even raise your will that much (250+)

Obviously, if they introduced a weapon that uses Will, they'd incorporate more Will into the game.
No need to be so negative. xD

Will adding Defence or protection on base stat 8D? +1 Def per 50 Will and +1 Prot per 100 Will or something like that

One of the skills could be power charge.
We could raise our power levels to boost our other attacks.

That'd be interesting.
I can't picture the type of weapon though. What goes with Will?

I hate Star Wars, and trying to add content to mabi based on it is fail, in my opinion. Sorry if that is negative, but I really hate that idea. I would much rather that skills be added that were more... basic/generic, things any type of player could use and add to their character's repertoire, without thinking they have to be a jedi. Besides, you can already think of yourself as a jedi. Mod your weapon to look like a lightsaber, use some magic. grats, you're a jedi. Make sure you take your storm trooper armor off now and then and shower though.
as it is, Will stat is kinda... meh. It is important for adding to your critical... but we have luck for that too. I'm not really sure what sort of thinking went into splitting the "crit giving stat" in two, and making one boosted by skill while the other only from being young and/or enchants. I'd like to see some skills boost luck, and perhaps explore some of the possibilities that will might allow for.
Turning Will into an attack stat seems kinda pointless to me. We already have str, dex, and int to do that. adding a 4th attack stat, especially when it also contributes to crit, seems redundant, and would have serious balance concerns (like, will-based attacks couldn't have big damage multipliers like smash, nor could they have large base damage like adv magics, otherwise it would be too superpowerful).
Will is supposed to partially be a defensive stat... rumored to play a role in having you go into deadly instead of dead. Juju's suggestion of having it affect defense/protection seems like a pretty good start to me. I'd also like to see it play a role in non-combat areas... like lifeskills and quasi-lifeskills. Perhaps a passive skill that lets you apply your will stat in some way to overcome production fails.

That's easy, a Green Lantern ring! :pika_laugh:
In all seriousness though, I don't think we need a weapon that gets damage bonuses from will seeing as it already affects crits and wounds and might become broken unless maybe the weapon type itself is weak in regular damage to compensate. Juju does have good idea on it contributing to defenses more than just chances of going into deadly, might make Paladins a little more tank-like.

So much for imagination!
I wouldn't mind a new skill tab based on Will. I think it'd be new and inventive.
Plus, C5 is coming right around the corner and I wouldn't be surprised if they include a new skill tab like they did with Alchemy.
Edit: But sure, you guys have good points.

How about use Will to reduce monster protections?
-
Xemnas wrote on 2011-01-18 03:11
Or a skill where you stare at a monster for 2-5 seconds and they take a % of damage based on how much will you have.(25 will = 25% of your max damage)

Will = more Crit Damage

I actually thought it would have been a good idea to have Alchemy damage based off of Will.
But anyway... Will benefits all forms of combat, so that sort of counts.
