vindictus a grind fest? not at all. repetitive? yes, but aren't we all playing MMOs?
at any rate, I've lost motivation to play until the next update at least. I've been playing TERA instead, which is everything vindictus is but better, with tons of exploration.

What else is there to do in Vindictus except grind and do other things in order to help you grind?

honestly the only thing it's really missing is PVP, and maybe a crafting system (which they threw out.)
what you're complaining about is the bread and butter of all MMOs. do you actually enjoy playing them?
vindictus' battle system is the most engaging i've ever seen personally. (for boss fights.)

Yes, the one MMO I enjoy playing is Mabi, because there are an extensive variety of things to do. It's not just about grinding. If you believe so, then you haven't played it thoroughly.
The battle system in Vindictus is not that engaging, contrary to what other people might say. You just dodge the enemy, then spam attacks.
Really, the only thing that Vindictus has going for it is the Source engine.

*raises eyebrow
well, you're welcome to have an opinion. there are many people who would say mabi is boring and repetitive, and many who will say the same for vindictus or ANY MMO. it's too subjective.
but saying that battles aren't engaging.. good lord >_>..

I liked Vindictus at first, but then found it pretty repetitive after a while. :(
I wish there were more things to do in that game besides grinding and questing... D: I want to explore!

Dodging the enemy is extremely hard, especially if you're right next to it, and it's a boss.

I am a little annoyed that a lot of dungeons are just recolours -_-
exploring is great for open-world games.
atm im just hoping vindictus updates more content. its its biggest downfall.

I actually like the fact that there is no open world, or no exploration...
In the end every mmo boils down to very few activities. If there is a large world, it just means a lot of time "wasted" going from point A to point B, and many games abuse that by giving quests that keep you doing just that. Going from quest giver to objective while killing mobs on the way is really no different from killing thrash mobs and getting to endboss in Vindictus when you think about it. And then they actually implement fast travel ways to cut down the boring parts. In fact they are cutting content they invested time into developing... Makes no sense really.
And mmo players are pretty much all about optimizing usually. No matter how many options you implement, you can be sure people will minimax the heck out of it and boil it back down to a few optimal way to go through content. Whether the resource is tokens like in Vindictus or your time like in many games, people want to get the most from their invested resources.
So far I really like it. It'll only get better when we get Hero Mode, things to do that you can't really solo, life skills with Rocheste, etc. I just wish they would upgrade their social interfaces... Guild features are minimal and that'll be a problem when we really need to cooperate.

you gota admit tho masterdo, they havn't spent a lot of time on the environment either. the lineal (lineal? lineral? whatever the word for straight line is. havin a brain fart) nature coupled with lazy recolouring does chafe a bit.
but I agree with you on the other points. It does save tons of time. however that means it gives more of the impression that you're doing the same thing over and over.

Got to like level 14 on my Evie and stopped playing. Too repetitive.
