you gota admit tho masterdo, they havn't spent a lot of time on the environment either. the lineal (lineal? lineral? whatever the word for straight line is. havin a brain fart) nature coupled with lazy recolouring does chafe a bit.
but I agree with you on the other points. It does save tons of time. however that means it gives more of the impression that you're doing the same thing over and over.

Yup, they were rather lazy :p It's far from perfect, but I really like the fact that you can login and be doing something fun within seconds. I am seriously having trouble going back to the pay to play mmo I still play, and look at huge open world maps with a handful of interest points spread out...
I think adding crafting past +5, making it possible to break your gear, might open a nice market for dedicated crafters. I hear that more crafting skills (like cooking) is added later too, so that might lay a new social aspect on that game.
And yeah, definitely hire new level designers :p They have Vindictus on one hand and Mabinogi on the other, both by the same company. Surely they will eventually manage to take the good points on both and make something amazing :)

LINEAR. thank god, I hate tip of the tongue.
and yes, the past +5 crafting will be implemented with Hero mode, since it's the only way to get enchantment elixirs. it opens up boss battle opportunities since it boosts attack speed.. which is needed desperately for the endgame bosses that attack spam like no tomorrow. Im not sure about cooking but I'd love if they implemented it.
I did switch to an open world game and the most annoying part is the enormous environments. I spend literally 5 minutes at a time simply just going where I need to go. but even then, the gameplay compared to vindictus even as a free-target system is lacking. I have never played an MMO with such intense boss battles, it makes something like TERA feel like I'm just killing tank mobs, even at high levels.
but hey, at least it's explorative with unique environments?
I'd love that they make the best of both words as well, but nexon likes to break our hearts!

Well that dodging part people tend to take for granted. It's not in every MMO where you can actually dodge attacks.
I mean like in WoW, I know you can't. You can jump, but you'll still get hit with normal attacks.

I liked Vindictus for the first 2 weeks or so, but then it was WAAAAYYY too repetitive for me
Then it got boring and I never played it ever since

Level cap is nothing.
Do all story quests, max out your AP and BP, and get over 180 titles. By then, you can say it gets repetitive, but for sure you'll never say all you do is dodge and spam attacks.
Hell, you can't even get an attack in unless you have a darn good party, or are spamming double crescent. (Even then, that's only sword lann.)

This is a great game like nothing before it. I enjoy how involved many of the boss fights are, and how you're never completely dependent on your party to make it through a fight. I've felt a real sense of accomplishment at the conclusion of some of my boss fights that I've never felt playing any MMOs, a feeling that it wasn't my level or my stats that gave me (or us) the narrow victory, but skill and determination.
What it lacks in content it makes up for in a beautiful mix of action and physics. While it's not an aged and content-rich world yet, when it becomes one, it will probably be the next game to inspire clones. A lot of the dungeon pieces start to feel repetitive on the first boat, but later on I never really felt it was a problem. In fact it's kind of good to know what to expect so you won't get caught off-guard by a mid boss and can go after your titles/BP bonuses of choice.
tl;dr: It has its flaws, but it's a great game that I expect will become even greater in time. Definitely time well-spent.

Psh, the person before said that I haven't played the whole game yet. Finishing all the quests and being at the level cap ensures that I have played through all the content that's been released already, and my evaluation is well-backed up.

i really like this game really fun. some bosses scares me. LOL i feel accomplish being able to solo certain bosses. and this is the first mmoprg that i actually need to be awake to play unlike maplestory i just hold "S" and spam genesis while my eyes are closing. :/ oh and for once i felt it's not just level +equip, there's also a need for skills.

Vindictus is pretty fun in my opinion. The battles do require some strategy to get through, though at the moment there are very few that could be considered truly difficult. My biggest reason for playing this is that it reminds me of Monster Hunter, which also had a lot of epic boss fights (curse you Fatalis! D:)
I do have to agree with Mama though, the lack of content and updates does put a damper on the game. I stopped playing for almost a month because I was at max level with nothing to do except grind Laghodessa to get ever closer to maxing out my... Health Mastery >_>;; I mean... seriously? In that interim, I've been playing FFXIV >_> It's nice to have nostalgia and open world and people I can speak Japanese to >_>

With three level 44's...how do you have an interim =p? Anyway, Vindictus hides the grind really well, and I enjoy it a lot. I don't really mind running the dungeons multiple times as it makes me a better player which will help for later boats.
