Have you seen the new Boats that are coming out in later episodes? You need more than just "spinning around the enemy" to be able to survive and actually deal good damage to those bosses.
And spear Lanns don't have infinite stamina, LOL.
This.

I have no knowledge of Lann, but imo they're the most difficult to play lategame. I agree with you needing skill to pull it off. watching papa play scares the crap out of me.
in the end stereotypes are simply stereotypes! you decide how well you end up using your character.
And spear Lanns practically have unlimited stamina really.. by the time you pull off your combo on a boss and roll out of their once a boss prepares it's move, you're able to pull off a fury infusion. I guess it depends to a certain degree :p
I already said, "a pro spear". As far as I know, I have only seen one person in NA done that, that is Mr.Papa, who would actually think of using roll/hurricane to his advantage, as well as the use for each combo to best suit the situation. He is, indeed, using everything to his disposal. (Instead of everyone else that keep saying roll/hurricane is a big NO NO, he went and took advantage of it.)
Here's some videos of pro spears users, they don't have to use every move against a boss, but what they used are the best for the situation.

The later two is more like a demonstration it can be done, there is still possible improvement.
Anyway, I am just saying a good spears, actually, a good player should always keep an open mind and willing to take risk for better reward. You may fail, and just looked like a noob trying to do so, but if you succeed, the reward will worth every second you put into practicing/testing.
