You're kind of preaching to the choir here, I've made more threads about mods and glitches than anything else and probably more than most others on the forum. I'm all for discussion, but in the case of one such as this I'd rather not have it ousted into the public especially not here. The rules state that discussion is fine, just not naming locations/methods/etc.
Personally I believe discussion is -very- important. There's strong evidence to suggest that if enough people get their panties in a bunch Nexon takes notice. Therefore having the correct information out there means everything.
As for river glitching, I see people on it all the time. More than once I've missed my target due to a spawn being wiped out that I was counting on. However, there's not enough people affected get enough burning torches in our proverbial mob...so I just take screenshots and sulk down the rest of the river. Not much point letting it bother me any longer than that until there's actually some action I can take about it.
So I can't post a link to the best PMG mod of them all, Dark Champion? Seems kinda lame if you ask me, especially when most decent/active players already have basic mods. <_<
Back to the whole Dorren's Request thing...
I say when it comes to mods/exploits/etc., if it doesn't affect you directly, let it go, or whine about it where no one will have to be bothered. This "mod" (which I really suspect is more of a glitch, similar to taking dungeon keys outside dungeons, which has been known to happen on rare occasions) isn't directly affecting anyone in any way except the people who are using/abusing it. Maybe they'll get a bunch of expensive items and make a huge profit off this. The end result is merely more of that expensive item on the market, which lowers demand and therefore prices for everyone. The whole server benefits, while the anti-modders storm the official forums with their whining.
I argued all this before on the official Nexon forum, reasons why complaining about mods or trying to stop mods doesn't help, but only hurts the situation. It's like all those newscasts about sexually explicit video games -- they're only showing it to MORE people, more people who will then become curious and perhaps try to find out what all the hubbub is about.
If people care so much when the game is "broken", they need to shut up about it so as to confine the "damage" to a smaller portion of the player base. I would not have gone around to every contact I have and questioned them about the mechanics of this mod/exploit if it had never been posted here. I may very well end up with a working knowledge of this exploit and be able to use it and spread it to others thanks to rash posting of sensitive information.
And just so you know, when I use the riverwalking glitch, I'm courteous enough to let the actual rafters get their kills, 'cause I'd want the same treatment. <_< I dislike being ks'd just as much as you do.
